I love shaped canvases they are so much fun so for this post for Colour Blast Blog I used a round one

This is Jack my son he's going places he has a head for business and that's what he's doing at Uni for the next five years 

He'll do any work that's thrown his way at his job 

And the only other thing he loves more than his family is the gym LOL

I started with some Colour Blast Colour Paste Steel painting it with a paint brush 

I then dripped some Colour Artist Ink in Rust (my favourite colour)

 I then used some Colour Shimmer Dust Duke which I also painted on

I then ended up painting the Colour Artist ink Rust and the Colour Shimmer Dust Duke thicker and then spreading the Colour Paste Steel with a palette knife  

I love how you can still see the canvas detail

 So here's how the canvas looks after playing around for awhile trying to get things straight LOL not a great strength of mine 

 I used Flutterbydesign Stickers to add some sayings that suit Jack 

 I added a few Finnabair Mechanicals for some contrast

In the Centre of the bottle cap I added a Melange Art Pebble which I had painted with Colour Shimmer Dust Duke mixed with 3D Matte Gel

I also used a heart from Charms Creations they have some many gorgeous shapes in so many colours

I then added Art Stones randomly to finish off the canvas

"Be Fearless" by Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!

Sue Plumb here to share my latest Colour Blast design team project with you. Today I am sharing a 12x12" mixed media scrapbook layout that features the February release Graffiti Grunge collection; as well as Colour Paste and Colour Artist Ink. I chose to document a fun photo taken with my kids when we were at a theme park.

Before I started, I gathered together my supplies - I chose the Tough paper from the Graffiti Grunge collection for my page base; along with the Direct Links die (also from the GG collection); the Peony Dreams stamp set (from the January Spread Your Wings collection); and Bling Colour Paste.

I began by adding some stamping to my page using the Peony Dreams stamp. Rather than stamping the entire image as a whole, I used parts of the stamp randomly with black ink to define the focal area of my layout where my photo was going to go; along with a small amount of stamping in the bottom right corner where I planned to place my title.

I then chose a Seth Apter designed stencil from StencilGirl to add some Bling Colour Paste over the top of the stamping, to add further interest to the focal area of my page. With the excess paste on my palette knife I simply wiped it off randomly around my page. 

At this point I decided the page needed some extra depth of colour, so I added a splattering of Rust Colour Artist Ink to the page using a small, stiff brush and then dried the page off. (You can see the shine and depth the Bling Colour Paste has once dry.)

Next, I set about creating some layers as a mat for my photo to sit on. I chose additional papers from the Graffiti Grunge collection and cut a variety of pieces; which I layered with book paper and then stapled it all together, bending and scrunching the edges for extra texture.

With my layered photo mat complete, I then attached it to my page, adding some frayed gauze and messy black cotton on top for soft texture. I also cut the Direct Links die twice from the Epic paper, cutting one in half and layering it over the top of the gauze so it the arrow head and tail were sticking out on both sides of the photo mat.

With the second die cut, I cut some of the extra chain links from it and adhered them so they would protrude from below the photo, then stuck an extra arrow head on the right side; before sticking my photo down on top.

With my photo in place, it was now time to embellish my page. I began with my title cluster - adding a couple of small torn scraps of paper (left over from my die cutting) over the stamping and paste I had on the page. To tie in with photo cluster, I also added some messy black cotton; then a butterfly sticker and the words "Be Fearless", which I had fussy cut from the Be Yourself Word Sheet.

I then tucked two butterfly stickers into the photo cluster (because "rule of threes", right?) and a die cut star. I then used several pieces from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Boys Rule' chipboard pack to add a few pops of dimension to the page. I added a few small pentagons, some chipboard stars and used the negative from another piece (cut in half) to frame my title words.

To finish off, I added the "fun and games" chipboard banner piece along the bottom edge of my photo and I was done!

This one was actually my first Project using the products from Colour Blast. I received my kit from Tenisha and dived straight into using the Colour Artist Inks... I put it into "Save for later" as that month Ros and Michelle also did amazing layouts using the same colours. First world problems.. I know right!!

My turn now to showcase my sunset.. I snapped this pic on my phone when I got out of my car from my driveway last summer and I love it. It truly shows what the sunsets in Western Sydney are like.. Hotter than hell in summer and spectacular reward at the end of the day!

Have a look at some close ups and I will run through how I achieved the effect at the end. 

  

I started by pooling Colour Artist Inks onto my page. I started with the lightest colours first, Barley, Cider and Rust. Then building up to Sunburnt and Bordeaux. I didn't prime my page. I used a semi gloss cardstock so it wasn't particularly porous as I found that the colours were more vibrant without gesso. I did this in several layers drying some areas with a heat tool to seal in the colours and left other areas wet too add more colour to blend. 

 Once dry I used Colour Artist Ink in Soot to splatter my page. 

I wasn't really satisfied with the soot on its own - too dark as I was hoping to use black embellishments to replicate the silhouette in the photo. I added some Colour Mica Powder in Olive to Gel Medium and watered it down just a touch to add some golden splatters to the background also.

 To finish off the background I added some Colour Paste in Tangerine and used a marbled stamp to add some definition to the background. I had a contrast of shimmery oranges and golds with some flat blacks.. 

 To finish off my page I created my own embellishment by colouring some watercolour paper with the same Colour Artist Inks I used for the background. 

I used the same techniques to create the clocks. I stamped the image onto cardstock I had coloured and fussy cut. 

 I used Colour Blast Heavy Gesso Black to colour some chipboard and the Colour Mica Powder in Olive to add sparkle. I love this colour when used on black as the shimmer pigment becomes the colour base.  

Lastly I also Colour Blast Black Heavy Gesso to prime my title and applied Colour Embossing powder in Sunshine.. Love the way the Embossing powder is golden on black gesso.

 Helloooo...Wow first post for Colour Blast today!! I envy the work of so many that have worked on the team and am super flattered to be able to add my name to those ranks. 

I have been scrapping for so long now that I have actually run out of pictures... Yep you know that you have problems when you have no back log of projects... So with the freedom I have now I get to really play with my products. This page is a tribute to my favourite song.. As well as a showcase my fave products...
Yep all Colour Blast.

 I am an earthy girl at heart and the Colour Artist Inks are so versatile for various colour pallets. I started with my go to products.. Wood grain and Script. I put my Heavy White Gesso to work.. to seal the page, as an adhesive, as a top coat and a highlight with my fingers to rub it into the edges of the paper to blend in the edges. 

 I wanted to create some hand made leaf embellishments for my page.  I coloured some watercolour cardstock in two layers. My first layer I dripped some Colour Artist ink in Cider, Rust and Walnut. I added some water and spread it with my brush to fill the page. I sprinkled some Olive Colour Mica Powder across the page for sparkle. 

 Once dried I added a second layer of Colour Artist Ink in Grass and Soot... Ok, maybe a little bit more Olive Colour Mica Powder too..

 I covered the whole sheet in a layer of crackle paste..

 Boom!! 

 I used Ranger as I have found that it is the best when drying with a heat tool. Often the instructions are to leave it overnight.. Too impatient for that! 

 I ran it through the die cutter... It was thicker in some parts and I ended up trimming through the thicker bits with scissors. It was worth it. Check out the texture and shimmer in those leaves. They remind me of Eucalyptus..

Now for the background... I used a Kaisercraft stamp (Marble) to create some variation in the background. I added some drops of Colour Artist Ink Soot to the page and with my wet wipe I began to age the background. I repeated the process with Colour Artist Ink Walnut.

   I collected my Embellishments together to cluster. I coloured a plain non-textured piece of cardstock with Colour Artist Inks Walnut, Cider and Rust to run through the Cuttlebug to create the script. 

After this I dry brushed some Heavy White Gesso back over the page to bring out the texture that the paper piecing created to really give the effect of a weathered wall.

  My favourite part of this whole layout was playing with Michelle Grants' new stencil Large Owl. The wide lines have given me so much yummy texture. I used some home made modeling paste that I made up with my Heavy White Gesso and added some Colour Artist Ink Soot to make a charcoal colour. I rubbed a little bit of crayon onto the leaves... but wait there's more!! 

Can you see the shimmer? I used my Clear Shimmer Brush Marker and was SO impressed with the effect. I later did a comparison with "other" brands who offer similar products. Hands down Colour Blast have nailed this product!

Hi everyone. I thought it was time to do a "boy" page after all the pretty pages I've shared lately. So here goes.

To begin with I dropped some Rust Artist Ink on my craft mat. Sprayed it with water. Then used some scrunched up cling wrap to dab it onto my page. I then repeated this with Walnut Artis Ink.

I then gave it a spray with Leather Colour Shimmer Spray.

Using a water brush and Walnut Artist Ink I dabbed around the edge of my page. I did small sections at a time then spraying with my water bottle dispersing the ink slightly.

For my chipboard cogs I used my finger to dab on Stormy Weather & Leather Colour Paste, then sprinkled Sienna, Envy & Steel Embossing Powder randomly before heat setting.

Using my finger I smeared Heavy Black Gesso around my photo before backing onto cardboard to elevate.

I painted some white foam letters with Heavy Black Gesso.

When putting my elements together I added some metal cogs as well.
