Love by Suzy Loudon

Hi everyone. Today I share a layout of my daughters cute little mice.

To begin with I tore the edges of my paper. I used "Free Spirit" from the Spread Your Wings Collection. I then stuck it down on some black card.

I activated my Shimmer Cubes by adding some water. I first painted my card with Apple Of My Eye (I die cut my grass using some packaging card that was a nice shiny card). Once dry I painted the tops with Envy. I then used Bling for highlights.

I painted my chipboards with Heavy White Gesso.

I once again activated my Shimmer Cubes. I painted my mice with Steel, Leather & Snow White.

Using Blush I coloured their noses. And Dusty Charcoal for their eyes.

Using Blush  Colour Embossing Powder I heat embossed my title.

Apart from my elements I only added a little hessian & their names. Keeping it very simple.
Here's a few close ups

Thanks for looking.

Together on Furlough by Michelle Henderson

I'm back again today with a more "traditional" vintage layout this time, using the wonderful Limited Edition paper range designed by Michelle Grant.

A sneaky sneak...

I started with some stamping ink and my platform, stamping along the top edge of my page with the Unpredictable stamp and the Original paper.

I then used the Enough stencil and Heavy White Gesso to stencil some cogs here and there in a vaguely vertical area, either side of the pattern.

Time to add colour - I used Colour Shimmer Dust in Lush , which I sprinkled on after spraying with water...

I thinned some Colour Artist Ink in Walnut down into a mister, and then sprayed through the same stencil in a couple of areas, and splattered a bit of both colours here and there. I also used the Colour Shimmer Brush Marker in Gold for some splatter - loving that sparkle 😍

I used the watered down Walnut to edge my diecut clock, and undiluted Walnut on the chipboard, which I also edged with the Gold marker.

I also mixed some Colour Mica Powder in Olive Grove and Espresso into clear gel, and used it to alter some metal cogs.

I realised I hadn't taken all the photos I meant to, so here's exactly what I used...

And here's how it ended up -

See you next time!

Earth Angels by Suzanne Franin

Hey Everyone Suzanne here

On the blog today I'm sharing a layout I created for a friend of her gorgeous granddaughter and one of her son's (he's also my godson)
He's a massive Great Dane but as you can see he's a gentle giant and loves everyone as the little one has grown up she's pulled his ears sat on him done all sorts of things and he's just taken it all

Make sure to check out the rest of the Colour Blast Blog for great inspiration from the rest of the team and also check out the Facebook pages for the Kit Club and what's happening with that Design Team as well

So I used a page from the Limited Edition- Uniqueness as I like the muted colours in it but it has the slightly darker edges for the pop of colour
I've been playing with moulds a lot lately  and thought I'd try the Colour Paste in it I did the bling in a different mould and it came out perfect so I thought I would try Steel in this one as I like the lace look
So with my palette knife I spread a layer to cover the whole mould and made sure there was no parts left that you could see that had dips in it or see any of the pink under neath - it was hard to get it to not fill in where the lace parts shouldn't be
I let it sit overnight so that way I was sure it was dry but before taking it out I used a cutting knife very carefully to take off any pieces that I could see that shouldn't be on there - like in the holes of the lace of course you can't get it perfect but I think it came out pretty good (this mould is used for cake decorating and they have the fondant that sets hard and comes out perfect)

After attaching all my paper pieces where I wanted them I glued the Colour Paste Lace down with Helmar 450 quick dry Adhesive and then added some Mermaid Beads to it for an added dimension

Here you can see some of the different pieces of paper I cut out of the Spread Your Wings - Wing it paper and the Spread Your Wings Elegant Tags

These green Prima flowers were the perfect colour to go with this paper range and I always need flowers

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come back soon x

Be The Exception by Suzy Loudon

Hi everyone. Today I have a layout to share using the Limited Edition Collection. Such a wonderful collection to work with...so many possibilities.

To begin my layout I tore the edges of my paper, I used 'Stand Out' from the Limited Edition paper range. I stuck it down onto 'Tough' from the Graffiti Grunge Collection. Then using the 'Unpredictable' Stamp from Limited Edition I did some random stamping.

I cut my paper 'Original' paper down & inked the edges for my photo mat.

I used the frame from the 'Glorious' sheet to frame my photo.

On my first chipboard using my finger i dabbed on some Envy  Colour Paste. Whilst it was still wet I sprinkled on some Envy, Sienna & Stormy Weather  Colour  Embossing Powder then heat setting.

For my next chipboard I die a piece using the 'Hands Of Time' die. Then using Leather  Colour Pastedabbed some on. Then added Envy  Colour Embossing Powder & heat set.

My next chipboard piece I did the same process using Stormy Weather  Colour Paste. Then Envy & Sienna Colour Embossing Powder.

My last chipboard I used Leather & Stormy Weather & Steel Colour Paste before adding Envy, Sienna & Stormy Weather Colour Embossing Powder.

Using the 'Unique' die I cut out with black card which I placed under my title which I cut out from the 'Exception' sheet.

Using Sienna & Leather  Colour Shimmer Spray I coloured some muslin.

From here I assembled my elements adding metals, flowers & pearls.
Here's a few close ups.

Thanks for looking.
