Christmas House by Suzy Loudon

I hope everyone has had a very special & safe Christmas.
So still in the Christmas spirit I thought I'd share my little Christmas House that I painted.
I wanted it to match the tones of a little gingerbread house that I had but didn't have the paints, so I got out my Colour Blast products & gave it a go.

To begin with I gave it a good coat of Heavy White Gesso as it was porous & I wanted to seal it.

To mix up the brown I used Rust Artist Ink with a little bit of Walnut Artist ink mixed with Heavy White Gesso.

To mix all my colours up I used Shimmer dusts with the Heavy White Gesso. The Shimmer Dusts I used are

I used Heavy Black Gesso as well as mixing it with the white to make a grey.

I added a good dose of material puff paint for the snow. While it was still wet I took it outside & sprinkled glitter over it.

I then gave it a quick spray with adhesive spray I sprinkled ultra fine glitter all over.

Then it was just leaving it to dry & turning the inside lights on each night.

And that brings 2019 to an end.
I hope everyone has a happy & safe new year. Bring on 2020.

My Faves and Goodbye

It's my very last post for Colourblast (for now at least 😉) so I though I'd share some of my favourites over the time I've been on the team.

Mostly I like them light and bright...

Sometimes extra inky...

A little tone on tone...

New Watercolours...

Back to Bright!

Although neutrals can be beautiful too...

And my latest is always my favourite 😄

This one was quite restrained colourwise for me...

Total opposite of the norm...

But...back to bright again...

This has been an awesome team to be on, I just LOVE the products and will certainly be continuing to use them and I promise to share when I do 💓

Thanks so much to both Paige and Tenisha for having me!

Xmas by Suzy Loudon

With Christmas fast approaching I thought I'd do a really quick Christmas layout.

To start with I did some random stamping with some Christmas stamps.

Using Sunburnt Artist Ink I put some on my messy mat then using scrunched plastic dabbed it on my layout.

I did the same with Grass Artist Ink.

Using Bling Colour Paste I spread it through a stencil. It's rather hard to see as it's quite fine.

Using Bling Embossing Powder I embossed around the edges of the cardstock.

I also embossed my chipboard with the Bling Embossing Powder.

Assembling my page I added some star tinsel & stickers, then some glitter to finish it off.

Thanks for looking.

A Beautiful Moment Captured by Michelle Henderson

Hi my (Bee) Arty friends!

I have an great new page for you today - I'm so in love with it!!

What do you think so far?

I started off with Colour Artist Inks in Sunburnt and Cranberry, both of which I thinned down with so much water as I only wanted a pale colour to match the colour of my cut file. I applied it on the diagonal using smooshing and drips initially, then a brush to draw it out a little.

I grabbed my Colour Shimmer Powder in Navy and mixed it with water, and lightly brushed some towards the edges of where the cut file was going.

I had some left over, so I dragged a flower mask through the mix and stamped with it here and there.

At this stage I felt it would be a little strong still, so I drybrushed some Heavy White Gesso very lightly over it with a fan brush. I loved how that worked!

The last part of my background was a thin coat of Blush Colour Paste through a stencil at 3 different points.

I added my cut file, photos and embellies then, all except the bow was Cocoa Vanilla Midnight collection.

Here's the final page 💕

Thanks for joining me today!

Relaxing by Suzy Loudon

Hi everyone. I was very excited when I got my hands on some of the Love & Grace Paper range. I just LOVE it. So first opportunity I grabbed one of my favourites & this is what I came up with.

To begin with I tore the edges of "Lucinda" & stuck it down on some black card.

Using the 'Imagine' Stencil I first spread Just Blue Colour Paste then lightly spread Singin' The Blues Colour Paste over the top.

Then using one of the earlier Colour Blast Stamp sets I did some random stamping.

Using Duke Shimmer Dust I activated a small amount with water. Using plastic I stamped it on my page.

Using Navy Shimmer Dust I lightly sprayed some cheese cloth with a spray I have made up. I gently dried it with my heat gun.

I embossed my chipboard with Jet Black Embossing Powder.

To colour my white flowers I used Marine Artist Ink. I varied from dipping the flower into the pot to mixing with various amounts of water to give various shades.

Using Snow White Colour Paste I used a mould to make flourishes.

Assembling my page I added art stones, butterflies & a flair. Keeping it pretty simple. Here's some close-ups.

Thanks for looking.
