Hi All - I'm back again, this time with a clean and pretty page - but still using some of my favourite Colour Blast products 😀

Here's a wee peek...

I started off with some white cardstock and my Colour Shimmer Dust in Sunflower, Candy, Passion and Cobalt. I wanted a pastel effect so I only put a little colour out, even then I ended up putting a lot of the Cobalt one back.

The photo on the left shows how much of the Candy I put out, and the one on the right how much I still had left when I finished. So concentrated!!

Using a soft flat brush I painted four large stripes.

For each of the stripes, I wanted a matching Colour Paste to stencil with. I chose Sunshine, Singin the Blues and Punch. I didn't have one to match exactly for the lavender, so I tinted some Rose Petal with a little Royalty which was perfect.

Using a stencil, I applied one colour at a time, waiting for the Colour Paste to air dry between each colour. That way I was able to match up the pattern each time.

It was hard to decide the rest of the design after that because I loved how it looked so much 😆

I chose a black and white photo because of all the colour already on the page. I used so many different collections from my stash to build layers and embellish!

I love how this one turned out, I hope you can take some inspiration from it too 😀

For this page I've used the following

I started this page using the Simple Stories "Life in Color" collection.

It's a few years old but still one of my favourites.  

After working out where I want all the elements to be featured, I start on my background.
Firstly some stripes with the 
Colour Shimmer dust Candy

Then some more stripes with Colour Shimmer dust Sunflower

It was at this point that I wasn't really sure what to do.
I thought the background needed something extra!!!
I briefly considered stamping but then remembered I had this relatively new, fun stencil.
Teamed with Black Heavy Gesso

I've added lots of different areas of Black Heavy Gesso to the background.
*** Caution: the black gesso will stain the stencil but doesn't affect future use ***

Once dried, I've added my layers.

Finally, some Charms Creations banners, journalling and stickers.

We R Cray! - Fiona Hughes

Hi everyone, it's Fi here. Just want to share with you all, my page for today.
Again, featuring my son, Ethan & I, in January  this year.
Coming home from dinner out for my other son's birthday dinner.
We were all being a little bit silly and I wanted  "Nice" selfies with all the kids but Ethan and I both chucked "Cray cray" faces.

I started with the usual heavy Marshmallow cardstock & the beautiful bright orange and yellow tones in the  Colour Shimmer Dusts- Sunflower, Amber & Candy

I mixed a tiny amount of these gorgeous dusts  with water in my palette. Then taking the water spray I put a little on the centre of the page. I grabbed a watercolour brush and  applied small amounts over the wet area... allowing the colour to flow and move freely. Once the  colour was as I liked it, I dried it with the heat tool.

There was a good amount of these intense colour washes left in my palette. How could i let these go to waste?, so I decided to flick it around the page for a different effect. I let this dry naturally.

Taking a circle stencil and some Bling ColourPaste, I worked the soft and silky goodness through the stencil over the main coloured area.

Leaving this to dry naturally so as not to cause any bubbling.

I then assembled the page... mounting my picture on yellow tissue paper layers first and raising it a little. Then some yellow star embellishments. a tab and enamel dots, diecut leaves, cotton, a crocheted flower and a piece of wood veneer.

I really like the contrast between the muted and diluted colours in the main patch of colour, compared to the vibrant, crisp colours on the splatters.

I chose some older wood veneer letters for my title. However, some of the letters had patterns on one side. I grabbed my White Heavy Gesso and a little foam dabber thingy and applied the gesso over the letters in a couple of coats. (allowing them to dry between coats)

I still had a little of the Candy Colour Shimmer Dust mixed in my palette, so decided to colour over the dried Gesso. This also took a couple of coats.

Once these lil gems were dry, all that remained was to stick 'em on.

Fun Times by Suzy Loudon

If you want a quick fun page to do then this is for you. 

I kept it very simple as I really felt that less was more.

I had a striped patterned piece of paper I wanted to back my white card onto. But I didn't like the long stripes. So I cut strips of the stripe and lined each side of the white cardstock (after trimming slightly).

I then activated my Colour Shimmer Dusts (I have a paint pallet that I use, then once I'm finished I set it aside for the water to evaporate leaving the Dust ready to be re-activated again later). Using Candy, Lush, Peacock, Cobalt, Passion, Sunflower & Amber I used my water brush to paint my splotches using a stencil. The Dust bled under the stencil but it gave the splotches different looks.

While my splotches dried I embossed my title with Colour Embossing in Dusty Charcoal. I gave it two coatings to make it nice and thick, then after I melted the second layer I quickly turned it over pressing it into a stamp giving it texture.

I double embossed my chipboard stars using Colour Steel Embossing.

I popped my title & stars on & I was done.

Hi Colour Blasters!

Rachel here with you today with my layout 

"Amazing Spiderman"

So here's how I created my vibrant page-

I started by applying White Heavy Gesso to the centre third of my page.  Next I sprinkled Cobalt and Peacock Colour Shimmer Dust on the page and then sprayed with some water. I tipped the page around to move the colour where I wanted it to go. 

I then soaked up the excess water with paper towel.

I then used a fan brush to add some tiny splatters of 

water-activated Cobalt and Peacock Colour Shimmer Dust.

Once that was dry my next layer was Just Blue and Fire Engine 

Colour Paste through some stencils.

Next was more splatters - Cobalt and Candy Colour Shimmer Dust,

 then splatters of Saffron Colour Spray.

While that was drying I heat embossed some Imaginarium Designs chipboard letters with Dusty Charcoal Colour Embossing Powder. 

I also embossed some wood veneer stars with Dusty Charcoal and

Fire Engine Colour Embossing Powder. 

I added some stamping, then my embellishments, 

and this is the end result

Hello there Colour Blast Lovelies!!

Farrel here to share with you all a project I created for a dear friend of mine. A mixed media happy mail envelope. I had some goodies that I needed to post and wanted to give her something a little special and here is what I came up with using the amazing Colour Shimmer Dusts.

So the first step was to apply a coat of White Heavy Gesso all over the envelope. I did this mainly to cover up the printing on the envelope but also to let me move the shimmer dust around before it dried.

Once dry the fun could begin!!! So I sprayed a small amount of water onto my envelope, dipped my dry paint brush into the Sunflower  Colour Shimmer Dust and tapped onto the water. Then using a straw, I blew the dust around.

I have a few process shots of the different colours I used but here they are in order - Paris, Passion, Candy, Peacock, Amber, Lollipop and Midnight.

I made sure to dry in between colours and dabbed the excess off with a paper towel. I then added some stamping using black archival ink.

I felt like it was missing something...I know it looks really busy but it seemed a little flat to me so I decided to splatter using Colour Shimmer Cube  Sienna. Much better!!

The last step was to seal the envelope and I did this using hair spray. And just like that we have happy mail art!!!
