"Awesome" Scrapbook layout + process video by Louise

Louise here for my final share on the blog.

I've so enjoyed my time with this team and my goal in sharing my work is to inspire you to try a new product or technique and stretch you crafting comfort zone.

Before I joined this team I loved coming to the CB blog to check out all the step by steps from the team and I look forward to checking out the new DT's work in the future.

So for my last page, I'm sharing a combo of two great Aussie Company's - Cocoa Vanilla Studio and Colour Blast = Perfect Match!

For this page I've used the following

Colour Spray Rainforest

Colour Shimmer Spray Apple of my eye

Colour Paste Just Blue

Black heavy gesso

Using a spatula, I'm adding some Colour Paste Just Blue and allowing it to dry naturally.

While it's drying, I've cut a circle with my Cameo and then sprayed it with Colour Spray Rainforest and Colour Shimmer Spray Apple of my eye.

The two together create a lovely green shimmer!

I've dried this with the heat gun and I love the way the circle has kind of warped and has such a textured feel to it - I decided to leave it this way on the page.

I next went on and did some paper layering and fussy cut the title.

The background still needed something to help it POP!

So I went to my "go to" product - Black heavy gesso.

Once everything is dry, I've added the rest of the layers and some stickers.

Black gesso over colour paste gives a gorgeous effect and I can't wait to try this with the "Sunshine" paste.

The green sparkly textured circle is one of my favourite parts of the page and I'm looking forward to doing this again in the future.

"Watch me Grow" Scrapbook layout + process video by Louise

Here is a bright, fun, easy to create page that I hope you'll have lots of fun creating.

"Watch me Grow"

For this page I've used the following

Colour Artist Inks Calypso

Colour Artist Inks Mermaid

Colour Artist Inks Soot

White heavy gesso

Black Heavy Gesso

Firstly I've used a stencil and smoothed some White heavy gesso through it.

I focused on two different areas - the left side and right side and wanted a triangle kind of effect.

I left it to dry naturally overnight - a heat gun works also.

Once it's completely dry, I've dripped some Colour Artist Inks Mermaid and used water to help it move into the gaps  - some I want to soak into the paper and some will sit on the gesso.

Repeat the process with Colour Artist Inks Calypso.

Finally I added a very small amount of Colour Artist Inks Soot and again added some water to help it move.

I love how this background looks! The inks move so nicely around the gesso and are almost like watercolour. 

It's at this point that I wonder what to do next.

I'm looking at the layout thinking about the shapes I've used - hexagons, triangle (square/rectangle photo) - I'm only missing circles.

So I grab some empty toilet rolls and dip them in Black Heavy Gesso

With the little bit of left over Black Heavy Gesso I add some water and using a paint brush, add a couple of splatters around the page.

Finally I've added my photo - with paper cluster and title.

I struggled choosing a title and a position, but in the end, I love how the title suits the photo and has a lovely pop of contrast on the page.

"All the Good Things"

For this page, I've taken my inspiration from the chipboard arrow frames.

I also wanted to showcase one of my favourtie colour combinations - blue + yellow = green!

For this page I've used the following

Colour Spray Carribean

Colour Spray Saffron

Colour Embossing Powder Sunshine, Apple of my eye and Just Blue

Colour Artist Ink Soot

Normally I start by working on my layout and I do like a horizontal page.

So to challenge my creativity I decided to work vertically.

I layed out the photos and the chipboard pieces down either side of my page.

I knew that my colour combo was going to be blue, yellow and green so I embossed each chipboard piece a different colour using the Colour Embossing Powder Sunshine, Apple of my eye and Just Blue.

I started with a white 12x12 cardstock background - no gesso required.

I used sprays Colour Spray Carribean and Saffron by spraying them onto packaging then smudging onto the layout.

While the spray is still wet, repeat with the alternate colour and they combine to make the three colours.

The background just needed something a little more, so I searched through my stash and came across this arrow stencil.

Then I added some splatters of Colour Artist Ink Soot.

I'd already selected the large title and kept the embellishing very minimal.

"Friends" Scrapbook Layout + process video by Louise

Sharing a new scrapbook layout inspired by the colours of my chosen photo.

This page (for me at least) is VERY mixed media!!!

I've used the following

Colour Artists Ink Soot

Colour Spray Rainforest

Colour Shimmer Dust Lush

Colour Spray Sunset

Colour Paste Tangareen Dream

I firstly chose a photo - the little pop of orange in the picture was my inspiration for the pop of orange on this layout.

The Colour Artists Ink come with a dropper - so I wanted to use this to make my background.

I've lightly sprayed the edge of the page with water and then used the dropper to add colour and let it run.

As each layer dries, rotate the page and repeat.

I let the ink dry naturally overnight and then added some Colour Paste Tangareen Dream through a stencil in some of the square areas of the ink drips.

To help with the flow of my orange theme, I've trimmed the outside of the inked cardstock and mounted it on orange.

I also added some background splatters with Colour Spray Sunset

While playing around with the layout, I decided I needed to frame the photo.

I pulled out a chipboard circle and added some White Heavy Gesso

I thought about embossing, but decided to pull a little of the green from the elements of the paper collection I've used and firstly painted the chipboard with Colour Spray Rainforest.

It just wasn't green enough so I then coloured it with the Colour Shimmer Dust Lush  - much better!

Finally, I've added some diamontes, wood veneer, flair and cheeseclothe.

This is so different to my normal creations but I love how it turned out.

"Cone of Shame" Scrapbook layout + process video by Louise

We all love our Colour Blast products and one of my favourite things to do is try new ways to use them.

For this page, I've used the Colour Paste on the title. Read on to find out more ...

"Cone of Shame"

For this page I've used the following

I started firstly with this photo that's been in my stash for awhile and I never really got the courage to scrap it.

Today was the day ...

I chose some chipboard pieces and teamed them with Colour Embossing Powder Deep Water & Singin the Blues

 

Next, I put together a background.

I didn't plan to back the triangles with patterned paper but that's how it ended up.

But it's all looking a little clean ...

Black heavy gesso to the rescue!

I created a messy border around the outside of the white cardstock.

I have a bit of a star theme going on, so I decided to roll with it and hand draw some stars on my bckground.

Then I painted the stars with Colour Artist Inks Calypso - I like them to be a little messy and outside the lines.

I've used my Silhouette to create the word "Shame".

I wanted to use the colour paste in a slightly different way and see what hapenned.

So I spread some on my craft mat, added a little water and then used a paint brush to add the paste to the title.

You can see it's created this really cool textured finish - the photo doesn't do it justice.

You should definitely give this a go, it's such a cool result.

I'm so pleased with the result - it definitely highlights the photo and I love how the title tells a great story.
