Today I've gone to the dark side.....dark paper that is😁

I have a bundle of Colour Pastes I used in this one. All the warms, plus purple and gold to weld it all together 😍
In all I used Apple of my Eye, Bling, Fire Engine, Royalty, Sunshine and Tangareen Dream.

I spread some directly on to cardstock with my palette knife and stamped with some script and background stamps while it was still wet. I stamped directly into the paste, then on to the cardstock to stamp the excess off. I only did 2-3 colours at a time and dried them off before moving on to the next colours.

  

Loved how it looked once it was all dry!

Then I used my Gold Shimmer Brush Marker to colour my chipboard,  but I found it wasn't quite gold enough,  so I also used the Colour Shimmer cube in Bling to strengthen it. It was sunny while I was doing it and I kept getting distracted by how beautifully the paint sparkled in the sun.

I also used the same pen to splatter a little around the edges of my background mainly, but also a little on top of the dry pastes.

When I was adding my photo it was hard to know where to put it so as not to cover it too much!

So this is what it ended up like...

Happy Monday Everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you this layout I have created using a "rainbow" of Colour Blast Colour Pastes with a splash of Gold using the Colour Shimmer Brush Gold Marker...

Firstly I used White Gesso and Circle Stencil. I then heat dried it with a heat gun.

Then with a spatula I scraped each colour one at a time from top to bottom of the page, cleaning the spatula between each colour...

While that is drying I coloured Wood veneer Hearts and chipboard words using the Colour Blast Gold Shimmer Brush Marker...

Once everything had dried I positioned all of the elements that I wanted on my page... I thought the Gold/Yellow was perfect contrast with the rest of the other rainbow colours. Then with the black title, splats and sequin star it really makes it all stand out!

This page is definitely a "Colour Blast"! I love how it turned out, and hope that I've inspired you to get out the rainbow colours!

Set of 3 Canvas by Charmane Koch

Hello Everyone! It's Charmane here again - this time sharing with you a Set of Canvases I've had in my stash for quite a while!

For me with this canvases I decided I wanted to experiment a little bit with the Artist Inks & Colour Pastes - but keep the colours simple. I used the Stencilgirl Deconstructed Floral Bouquet Stencil by scraping modelling paste over the top of the canvases using a metal spatula. I made sure that I positioned the stencil differently on each of the 3 canvases so that they would not be all the same.

I waited overnight for the paste to dry, as I didn't want to use a heatgun because I didn't want it to bubble up but instead have a smoother surface.

The next step I wanted to make sure all of the canvases were coloured using the Colour Artist Ink watered down - I used Spice, Cranberry & Marine. Using a horsehair brush I coated each canvas.

I love how the Colour Artist Ink has soaked into the Floral pattern of the stencil.

With both of the Orange & Pink Canvases I decided to roughly smear Colour Paste Tangareen Dream  & Lipstick over the top of the Ink & Paste.

I wanted a rough looking effect - scraping thinly and thickly in different parts of the Canvas.

I used a heatgun to dry them out, not too close as I didn't want it to bubble up. 

The Blue Canvas I wanted to experiment a little differently using the Clear Shimmer Brush Marker over the top of two of the flowers, and colouring using another paintbrush the other 2 flowers using a less watered down Colour Artist Ink Marine {so that it was a little darker}.

I decided that it still needed more so I have used the Stencil A5 (Medium) Bird by Michelle Grant - 

 I used a thin layer of White Heavy Gesso. I let this dry overnight. I then used watered down Marine Artist Ink to darken the bird and make it standout.

Unfortunately the photos don't show the shimmer & shine - which does looks amazing!

The plan for these canvases were to hang them on the wall going up the staircase to the kids rooms, but when I set them up they were way too wide apart. I decided they would go at the bottom of the stairs, along with my next WIP {the canvas below the 3 finished canvases} You may see this in another blog post soon!

Hi fellow Colour Blasters

Anita here with you today and I am so thrilled to have been asked to join this wonderful Design Team for 2018-2019.  I have followed this amazing team of designers for a long time and love using the product when I get to play with it..... and now I do on a very regular basis.

A little about myself..... I have been a paper crafter for a while now and love bright and happy things so Colour Blast is definitely my kind of product.  Being Australian owned is also a huge attraction as I will always support home grown businesses, and I love how the products are so different to others on the market.

I have recently redone my craft 'studio' (and still a work in progress) and love spending time creating anything from cards through to layouts and off the page, and use mixed media techniques in a lot of my creations when I can. I also enjoy sharing my passion and have started teaching classes.

I hope you enjoy the journey that I am on this year and learn as much from me as I will be learning along the way.  I hope you enjoy my first "sunshiney" creation, as it is all about what you do not how much you do to create the end result.

For my first creation I wanted to do a 12x12" layout showcasing the gorgeous Artist Inks in my kind of colours - bright yellows and oranges.

To start my layout I covered the area that I was going to apply my Artist Inks to with some Heavy White Gesso. I really love this product as it dries so quickly which is great for me as I am such an impatient crafter.

I wanted to create a layout that matched the photo of my niece wearing her sunnies last summer holidays so chose the Colour Artist Inks in Citrus and Cider. 

Using the dropper I added droplets of both colours along the diagonal and then using a brush blended them across the page. Next I used my heat gun to dry the inks off.

Once my page was dry I then took a matching orange ink and stamps several images over the artist ink and around the page to add another texture and feature to the page. I also add some splats in the Colour Shimmer Spray Tangareen Dream.

Using one of my many many stencils in my stash and the Snow White Colour Paste I added another layer to my page. I think the Snow White colour paste is my absolute thing EVER!!! I love how once dry the backgrounds colour show through.  So cool!!

Now that my background is done, I then had fun putting it all together with embellishments and flower clusters.  Using embellishments from Charms Creations, Flutterby Designs and D-lish Scraps I finished off my page. My title was from Celebr8 and inked in a matching orange ink, the same as the background stamping.

"Friends" Scrapbook Layout + process video by Louise

Sharing a new scrapbook layout inspired by the colours of my chosen photo.

This page (for me at least) is VERY mixed media!!!

I've used the following

Colour Artists Ink Soot

Colour Spray Rainforest

Colour Shimmer Dust Lush

Colour Spray Sunset

Colour Paste Tangareen Dream

I firstly chose a photo - the little pop of orange in the picture was my inspiration for the pop of orange on this layout.

The Colour Artists Ink come with a dropper - so I wanted to use this to make my background.

I've lightly sprayed the edge of the page with water and then used the dropper to add colour and let it run.

As each layer dries, rotate the page and repeat.

I let the ink dry naturally overnight and then added some Colour Paste Tangareen Dream through a stencil in some of the square areas of the ink drips.

To help with the flow of my orange theme, I've trimmed the outside of the inked cardstock and mounted it on orange.

I also added some background splatters with Colour Spray Sunset

While playing around with the layout, I decided I needed to frame the photo.

I pulled out a chipboard circle and added some White Heavy Gesso

I thought about embossing, but decided to pull a little of the green from the elements of the paper collection I've used and firstly painted the chipboard with Colour Spray Rainforest.

It just wasn't green enough so I then coloured it with the Colour Shimmer Dust Lush  - much better!

Finally, I've added some diamontes, wood veneer, flair and cheeseclothe.

This is so different to my normal creations but I love how it turned out.
