My Favourite Projects, And Farewell by Rachel Dutko

Hi everyone

Well its that time where I need to say farewell to the Colour Blast DT. I've had an absolute 'blast' (or should that be 'Colour Blast'!) over the past 18 months.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to Tenisha, Kaye and the team for having me on the team and giving me the opportunity
to share my love of Colour Blast products.

I'd like to wrap up my last post by reliving some of my
favourite projects I have created for Colour Blast.
(Click on the titles for a link to the projects in detail.)

My first and probably most favourite is a recent layout where I finally
got to play with the Colour Blast Colour Artist Inks.

My next favourite 12x12 layouts are from early on in my Colour Blast journey-

I also wanted to share some of my Off-The-Page projects-

So you can see from my samples just how versatile Colour Blast products are,
and there is a product for every kind of creative project.

I'm so excited to see what the new team bring to you.

I'l see you in the Colour Blast Creative Corner Facebook group.

Thanks for looking

"Tell Your Story" by Rachel Dutko

Hi everyone!

Rachel with you today, with a 12x12 layout to share-
"Tell Your Story"

To start my page I used a small paintbrush and painted some
Marine Colour Artist Ink onto a sheet of
heavy weight cardstock. I then added some splatters.

Next I added some Punch and Lipstick Colour Pastes through a StencilGirl stencil.

The stencil had so much detail and I really wanted the background to be a feature so I added my photo and embellishments
along the lower edge of the background rectangle.

I then heat embossed some chipboard stars with Just Blue
Colour Embossing Powder, and then scattered them among the embellishments.

Don't be afraid to get in front of the camera
and scrap those selfies.

Thanks for looking.

"Live Laugh Love" by Rachel Dutko

Hi Colour Blasters!

Well it was my birthday a few days ago, so what
better excuse to share a selfie layout!

I created my layout on black cardstock for the Colour Blast products
to really shine and shimmer!

For my first background layer I used Colour Shimmer Sprays in Deep Water
and Singin The Blues through a Stencil Girl stencil.

Once that was dry I added some Punch Colour Paste
through a script stencil.

The next step was to mix some White Heavy Gesso with some water
on my messy mat, then add some splatters to my page.

I then coloured some paper flowers and chipboard pieces with Lagoon Colour Spray.

I added my photo, a cluster of embellishments and a die cut title.

Some close ups-

"Be Yourself" by Rachel Dutko

Hello again Colour Blasters!

Today I have a selfie layout to share-
"Be Yourself"

I created my base colour by mixing some Watermelon Colour Mica Powder
with some White Heavy Gesso, then scraping across some
heavy weight cardstock with a palette knife.
I liked the muted, chalky texture to this layer.

Next I added Punch Colour Paste through a stencil, then once it was dry
I added some Bling Colour Paste through another stencil.

I also added some stamping to my background to add some depth,
before adding my embellishments and photo.

I used some gorgeous chipboard from Scrapmatts, which I coloured with black ink then heat embossed with Dusty Charcoal Colour Embossing Powder.

To add some more detail to the page I covered my photo with some scrap paper, then added some splatters with Cranberry and Bordeaux Colour Artist Inks, then also with Road Base Colour Spray for some smaller splatters.

I just love the way this page turned out, especially the shine of the Bling and Punch Colour Paste poking out from under the layers for a touch of glam.

Thanks for looking

"Forever" by Rachel Dutko

Hi Colour Blasters!

I'm so excited to be introducing this month's challenge

Here is my layout for this challenge-

And here is a look at the challenge-

I started my page by applying some acrylic paint,
then adding some Steel Colour Paste through a stencil.

Once it was dry I sponged on some White Heavy Gesso
through a script stencil.

Next I added some splatters of Deep Water Colour Shimmer Spray
and Lagoon Colour Spray. I also added some stamping.

Next it was on to the chipboard.

I chose some chipboard pieces and primed them with White Heavy Gesso.
I then heat-embossed with Deep Water and Steel Colour Embossing Powders

I also coloured some more chipboard pieces with Black Heavy Gesso
and Lagoon Colour Spray.

Then it was time to layer up all my chipboard pieces.

Make sure to head over to the Colour Blast Creative Corner on Facebook
to add your entry to the challenge!
