Hi. Today I'm sharing a layout I did using the Spread Your Wings Collection Papers and Mica Powders.

To begin with I tore the edges of my paper - Fly, then stuck it down onto the Keep Calm Paper. I had cut the inside of my Keep Calm paper & later used it to mat my photo.

I then used Snow White Colour Paste through a stencil. 

I mixed Peach Nectar  Colour Mica Powder with Mod Podge. Once I had the colour I was happy with I painted some white flowers. I had some mix ready so I decided to add it to my page through a stencil.

I then added Cool Mint  Colour Mica Powder to Heavy White Gesso. I painted my chipboard then painted some white flowers.

Deciding I needed a third colour I mixed Watermelon  Colour Mica Powder with Mod Podge and again painting white flowers.

I painted my chipboard with Heavy White Gesso before adding some micro beads.

I put all my elements together adding some embellishments including lace & art stones.

"Be Yourself" by Rachel Dutko

Hello again Colour Blasters!

Today I have a selfie layout to share-

"Be Yourself"

I created my base colour by mixing some Watermelon Colour Mica Powder 

with some White Heavy Gesso, then scraping across some 
heavy weight cardstock with a palette knife. 

I liked the muted, chalky texture to this layer.

 Next I added Punch Colour Paste through a stencil, then once it was dry 

I added some Bling Colour Paste through another stencil. 

I also added some stamping to my background to add some depth, 
before adding my embellishments and photo.

I used some gorgeous chipboard from Scrapmatts, which I coloured with black ink then heat embossed with Dusty Charcoal Colour Embossing Powder.

 

 To add some more detail to the page I covered my photo with some scrap paper, then added some splatters with Cranberry and Bordeaux Colour Artist Inks, then also with Road Base Colour Spray for some smaller splatters.

I just love the way this page turned out, especially the shine of the Bling and Punch Colour Paste poking out from under the layers for a touch of glam.

Art Journal Page - Love by Farrel Tailor

Hello Everyone, I'm back today to share with you all an art journal page I created using the amazing Colour Mica Powders and the Black Heavy Gesso.

I started off by rubbing Black Heavy Gesso all over my art journal page with a baby wipe.

While it was drying (it doesn't take long) I mixed some white acrylic paint with some Peach Nectar  Colour Mica Powder and using a palette knife, I smeared it onto my page.

I used the same technique with Watermelon  Colour Mica Powder. I also used my fingers to rub on lightly some of the white acrylic paint to brake up some of the pink on the page.

After giving it a quick dry with my heat gun, I then mixed Olive Grove  Colour Mica Powder with some gel medium and wiped over my stencil using a palette knife.

Next I sprayed some water onto my craft mat and mixed a little bit of Black Heavy Gesso to create a thin like paint and used my finger to add it to my figured stencil.

Next I added a word stencil "Love" to the side of the page using Whipped Spackle and rubbed over it with some distress crayons. I also added some doodling around the edges using my Uni Posca White pen.

Last of all I splattered using Steel  Colour Shimmer Spray and voila  another art journal page completed.

Greetings and Salutations Colour Blasters I am back again with another layout that I really enjoyed making. It is a real soft feminine page that was a little fiddly at times but I really like how it turned out, best of all it is pretty simple to create.

Trim 1 inch from the top and bottom of a 12x12 piece of cardstock and place a stencil over it. I created a flower stencil with my Cameo but any decorative stencil will do, apply a layer of  Heavy White Gesso over the top of the stencil. I used an old bank card as the flat edge gives an even coat of Gesso.

Apply the Heavy White Gesso all over the 11x11 cardstock. Use a corner of the bank card to make some random scratch marks in the wet Gesso.

Gently lift the stencil up from the Heavy White Gesso and leave to dry.

Spray the areas where the stencil was with Bubblegum Colour Spray.

 Blot the excess Colour Spray off with a baby wipe, keep wiping until the gesso on the detail of the stencil become white again, now let dry.

Spray the rest of the 11x11 background randomly with Envy Colour Shimmer Spray and let dry.

Tear a rip into the 11x11 cardstock and roll the cardboard up (I tore the top right hand corner). Spray with Bubblegum Colour Spray, this will dampen the cardstock and set it in the rolled position when dry.

 Roll the top left hand corner of the 11x11 cardstock up and spray with both the Bubblegum Colour Spray and the Envy Colour Shimmer Spray.

Using a patterned stencil with a small repetitive design on it spread some Envy Colour Paste through it. I concentrated mainly on the middle of the 11x11 cardstock and the top right and bottom left corners. By placing small amounts in the corners it helps to draw the eye across the page and creates movement.

 Below is how my background on the 11x11 cardstock looked before anchoring it to a 12x12 sheet of patterned paper.

 Here you can see that I have anchored (adhered it) to a 12x12 piece of patterned paper and I am brushing on some Watermelon Colour Mica Powder for some extra glitz and glamour. If you are worried about the Colour Mica Powder wearing or rubbing off over time you can set it with a fine mist of hair spray.

I hand cut a few arrow shape pieces of patterned paper and a large banner shape to mat my photos and create some embellishments. As you can see I distressed the edges of the patterned paper. I used a distressing tool however it is easy enough to distress the edges with the blade of a pair of scissors.

Adhere the photo and the embellishments to the background. I tucked some shredded calico behind the photo for some texture.

Tuck some calico and an embellishment behind the top left hand rolled corner.

In places where I wanted a little bit of texture but not as much as the calico I added some loose sewing cotton under the embellishments. By adding flowers and bows it gives the layout an extra softness for that feminine look.

Lastly add a title.

Natural Beauty By Ree Peace

Hi all! I hope you have all been getting to craft up a storm of late, between the weather and school going back things have got to be looking up for some of us =)

I had the perfect model for this sweet LO using a few papers from 7 Dots all while getting messy with some Colour Mica Powders and Colour Blast Heavy White Gesso with a tiny spray of some Colour Shimmer Spray but first....

here are my selections;

I then prepped my printed paper with the Colour Blast Heavy White Gesso.

While the background was drying I prepped some Gesso with Colour Mica Powder in Cool Mint and Watermelon…

I needed a number of these sized sprinkles to get the colour depth I was after.

I then scrapped the tinted Heavy White Gesso through a 7Dots stencil using an old store card, achieving a blended look of the two colours together.

Again while the background was drying I worked on my chipboard piece 'Natural Beauty'. This got a coat of a deeper version of the Cool Mint tinted Gesso.

I used my heat gun to dry this and as it dried I layered on some Colour Shimmer Spray in Envy, gaining this wonderful shimmer through about 3 layers of spray with a heat gun between layers.

 Once it was all dry I added touches of layering of my photos with other printed paper, a doily, some stamping, some washi tape, tiny word stickers and some natural twine.

There is also a sprinkling of Colour Shimmer Spray in Envy...

And here is my Natural Beauty at her best!
