"Easter Selfie" by Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!

It's Sue Plumb here with my latest design team project for you. Today I am sharing a mixed media scrapbook layout that features a combination of Colour Spray, Colour Paste, Colour Shimmer Spray and Colour Artist Ink.

I created this page to document a series of fun SnapChat selfies I took with my kids last Easter. (I hadn't intended on taking a series, but once you do it with one of them, you end up doing it with all!)

Here is my layout...

And now for my process.

I began this page with a sheet of white cardstock trimmed down to 11x11" as I intended on matting my page using patterned paper. I started by applying some 'Indigo' Colour Spray to my page with a wide brush using a vertical stroke and keeping the top third of my page free from colour.

Once the spray was dry, I added some 'Punch' Colour Paste to my page, which I applied using a palette knife through a heart stencil from Flutterby Designs. I added the paste in three small sections, which I kept fairly close in to where my photos were going to be placed.

Once dry, I added some small pieces of torn washi tape to begin building the structure of my page. At this point my layout was looking like this...

Now it was time for the photos and embellishments. I dug through my stash and found some old Amy Tangerine supplies I thought would work well, so I added a few bits and pieces as layers before adding my photos on top. I then matted my page onto a sheet of coordinating patterned paper. 

As a number of the pieces I had used had gold foil on them, I decided I need to add a little gold to my background to match. I used 'Bling' Colour Shimmer Spray to add some gold splatters, which I did by flicking the end of the nozzle around my page.

Next, it was time for my page title, which I added along with my handwritten journalling, in the bottom right corner of my page. 

I still felt as though my layout needed a little extra "something" to add colour, so I used 'Grass' Colour Artist Ink and a small, stiff brush to add some very fine splatters around my page.

And with that, my page was complete.

You can see how the addition of the green ink worked in with the green that featured in the embellishments, helping to bring all the elements together.

The placement of the 'Punch' Colour Paste above and below the photos helps to draw the eye through them.

This was a fun page to put together for some fun photos. I hope I have inspired you to get some of your own memories documented too.

Hi...sharing a layout I did of my three wonderful kids using a mix of lovely papers & Colour Blast Products.

To begin with I painted my chipboard with Heavy White Gesso.

Once dry I sprayed it with a spray I made up using water & Navy  Colour Shimmer Dust.

I used my heat gun to dry it, pooling areas as it dried giving it texture.

I also painted a wood veneer & a chipboard title with Heavy White Gesso.

I then decided to add some Snow White  Colour Embossing Powder. But to not waste a bunch of my precious embossing powder I marked off where my photo would go so I knew where not to emboss.

I embossed the top half of my title with Singin' the Blues and the bottom with Deep Water  Colour Embossing Powders.

I coloured a bunch of white flowers by spraying Indigo Colour Spray onto my craft mat the using my paintbrush to add colour to the flowers. I kept adding sprays of water to the Indigo spray to lighten the flowers as I went.

Some other flowers I sprayed with Deep Water Colour Shimmer Spray.

After I had stuck everything down I used my Clear Shimmer Brush Marker to go over my butterflies & on the paper flowers I fussy cut as well as the flowers on the actual paper I used.

"Together" scrapbook layout + process video by Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!

It's Sue Plumb here with my latest Colour Blast design team project for you. Today I have a 12x12" mixed media scrapbook layout to share that features Colour Spray, Colour Artist Inks and Colour Paste. It also features a photo of one of my most special scrappy friends and I that was taken at a scrap retreat earlier this year.

To start my page, I applied 'Indigo' Colour Spray to my cardstock using a wide brush. (I chose indigo as my base colour because it matched the highlights in my hair.) 

I then mixed some white acrylic paint with a few drops of both 'Lime' and 'Grass' Colour Artist Inks, using an old ice cream container lid as my palette.

Once the paint was tinted, I used a brayer to apply it to my page over the top of the Colour Spray I had brushed on.

Next, I added some more colour, by dripping some 'Lime' Colour Artist Ink directly onto my page using the dropper from the bottle, before tilting my page around to help the ink run. 

Once I had dried the paint and ink, I added some stamping over the top using a floral stamp from Viva Las VegaStamps and some StazOn ink. 

Then it was time to add some texture and a bit more colour. I used 'Just Blue' Colour Paste, which I applied with a palette knife through a floral stencil before drying it off with a heat gun.

With my background layers in place, I then added my papery layers using patterned papers from Cocoa Vanilla Studio and also some frayed gauze before adding my photo on top.

I also added some gorgeous floral cut files from Cut to You (which I had Gwen cut for me as it was far easier than dragging out my own Silhouette! haha) I chose not to back them, and left them white to contrast against all the colour I had already used in the background. I also bent them up from the page in places, which only added to the dimension of my layout. 

I complimented the floral theme I already had going on in my background by adding some paper flowers and leaves (all from D-lish Scraps). It's been a long time since I used flowers on a page, so it was nice to use up some supplies that had been sitting around gathering dust.

I also used up some old wood veneer pieces and phrase strips from Cocoa Vanilla Studio, as well as my cardstock title that I added directly onto the bottom edge of my photo.

I then reached for my 'Soot' Colour Artist Ink and a fine brush to add some splatters to my page.

The final step was to use my 'Clear' Colour Shimmer Brush Marker to add some subtle sparkle to the paper flowers and leaves and also to the tips of some of the cut files. 

It was hard to capture the delicious sparkle, but I did my best!

"My Girl" layout + process video by Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!

Sue Plumb here today to share my latest design team project with you. This mixed media scrapbook page was created using Colour Shimmer Sprays; Colour Paste; Colour Artist Inks and Colour Spray; and features a recent photo of my daughter I captured at the local park.

To create my page I started by applying both Blush and Tangerine Dream Colour Shimmer Sprays to my cardstock using a brush.

I then applied Snow White Colour Paste using a palette knife and a stencil, to add some subtle texture to the background. Once applied, I dried it off with a heat gun - it is at this point the paste comes to life, and the true colour and shimmer of the product is revealed.

With the base for my background complete, I then moved onto my papery layers. I used some scrap pieces of patterned paper from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Life is Beautiful' collection, which I layered together to form a photo mat, then secured the stack with staples.

I then added the little stack to my page (again securing it with staples), before adding some frayed gauze and then my photo on top. 

The floral embellishments I used were designed by Wilna Furstenberg. I simply printed them out on some smooth white cardstock, then fussy cut them with scissors. I added the floral pieces using foam tape, and placed them so that they would frame the photo.

I then added the remainder of my embellishments - two sweet little acetate birds; as well as Cocoa Vanilla Studio resin flowers, flair button and enamel dots.

Next, it was time to add a little more colour to the page to help bring it all together. I used Citrus and Cider Colour Artist Inks to add some fine splatters using a small stiff brush.

I then repeated the process using Indigo Colour Spray before adding some small phrase stickers and my title (also a printable from Wilna Furstenberg).
