Hello everyone, it is me Tracey Campbell back with a bright and bold layout using lots of bright, beautiful Colour Sprays and Colour Shimmer Sprays ... actually all the colours of the rainbow!

I have posted a process video above that gives you all the details in full and how I created the layout.  Below I will also pop up a few photos for those who don't have time to watch.

Life is Art 

Ever come across those photos that are full of bright primary colours, usually kids play ground photos, at theme parks or birthday parties.... and such?  The ones that are so difficult to match to paper without the layout becoming over the top?

Well these photos of my daughters were such photos, they had sat in my stash for about 7 years. This weekend I decided to have a play with the Colour Blast Colour Sprays and Colour Shimmer Sprays to see if I could come up with a creative way to finally use them.

The first thing I did in this layout was to create a rainbow splatter effect background. I used a mix of seven different Colour Shimmer Sprays and Colour Sprays. The colours used were; Love (red), Sunset (orange), Saffron (yellow), Rainforest (green), Sapphire (blue), Violet (indigo) and Lovely Lilac - the exact shades need for all the colours in the rainbow.

Put a drop of Colour Blast Spray or Colour Blast Shimmer Spray onto your background cardstock, gently blow through a stray guiding the liquid spray in the direction you want it to go.

Once you have it spread out a bit blow in short shape puffs through the straw and allow it to burst and run in all different directions.



The harder you blow the more burst you will get.

Keep repeating until you have used all the colours of the rainbow. I encouraged my burst to go towards the edges of the cardstock as I knew that I wanted the photos to be in the centre. If you work all in one go without letting the colours dry they will blend together to create a new colour. 

Once the rainbow is dry use some black waterproof ink and stamp on blotches and dots randomly over the dried sprays. 

Spray seven heart diecuts the same Colour Shimmer Sprays and Colour Sprays that you used in the splatter rainbow.  Once dry back the heart diecuts with the same coloured pattern paper (this is a great way to use up your scraps) and then pop an enamel dot in the centre of the heart.

Use the same Colour Shimmer Sprays and Colour Sprays to colour up some white paper flowers. Once the flowers are dry adhere them to the diecut hearts, add a small doley for a soft feminine touch.

Adhere the photos down in the middle of the rainbow splatter, place the heart diecut/flower embellishment clusters around and under the photos. Making sure that the same coloured heart cluster gets placed over the same coloured splatter. Add a patterned paper boarder strip around the whole layout and finish off with a title.

Hope that you all love how bright and cheery this layout is, I would love to see you try this colour splatter effect.

Now for something else;  I would like to share a second layout I did this weekend using the wonderful Colour Blast Products, this was a page that I created for the White With 1 blog challenge, which Colour Blast was a sponsor for the month of September. Now don't go and look for my layout on the White With 1 blog as I forgot to upload it in time.

For this layout I used the Colour Shimmer Dust - Sunflower, on the background by sprinkling the tiniest amount on and activating it with water, then manipulate the page so that the excess liquid dribbles down the page. Once dry I used a small dot stencil and spread a thin layer of the Colour Paste - Sunshine, through it. Once dry I layered up with pattern paper and embellishment clusters and finished off with a splattering of Colour Spray - Saffron, over the page. If you haven't guess by now the White With 1 challenge was to use "Yellow" and the Colour Blast products really do give you such versatility to go wind with just one colour tone.

I apologies that I did not take photos to give you step by step instructions on how I made this layout, but I did film it if you are interested is seeing more? I now also apologise as I can not upload two videos on to this one blog post..... computer Gremlins are really playing up for me lately.

Hi there Colour Blast fans! Amy Prior back with you all again today, this time sharing a super fun and quick tag with a little photo tutorial on how I created it.

This fun tag was created using my favourite Colour Blast products alongside some 2Crafty chipboard and a single Scrappers Garden flower. 

The first step to creating this tag was to cover the chipboard and kraft tag with some gesso. I have used some good quality Matte Gesso for this to ensure the wet shimmer spray would adhere and not resist. You can also see that I did not cover the tag completely as I wanted some of that gorgeous Kraft colour still to shine through.

Next I have simply sprayed a nice covering of Rose Petal Colour Shimmer Spray over the entire background of the tag. I have made sure that the gesso was completely dry before starting this part and a heat tool can be used if needed. Sit the tag aside after this step to dry naturally so that the yummy colour pools up on the tag naturally.

While the shimmer spray is drying on the tags background, I moved on to decorating my chipboard dream catcher by painting some feathery patterns using Colour Pastes. 

For this step I have used some very thin paint brushes and painted very random and messy strokes of  Colour Pastes in Bling, Rose Petal, Deep Water, Steel and Snow White. I have also covered the entire top section with Snow White Colour Paste.

Once my tag was completely dry, I have added some random bits of Plasterer's tape for some added texture. Cut the plasterer's tap roughly and then stretch and pull the tape a little to make it look less uniform.

My final addition to the base of the tag before adhering the chipboard and flower, was to add some Prills using some Liquitex Matte Medium. I just love these little balls of happiness because they are all mixed sizes and shapes which makes it so much more fun than regular micro beads etc. 

Here are a few close-ups of that gorgeous texture and finished detail. 

A couple of pearls were the perfect finishing touch to the gorgeous dream catcher chipboard.

Art Journal Cover - Imagine Dream Create by Farrel Tailor

Hello Colour Blast Peeps!!!!

I'm back with another project and I'm hoping you like it as much as I enjoyed created it.

 I have wanted to cover my Dylusions 8x8 Art Journal for so long now and I decided to give it a go and this is how it turned out!!!

I started with covering my elastic with masking tape and then applying a coat of white gesso.

I then stamped onto some tissue paper with black archival ink and while the gesso was still wet, I tore up the pieces of paper for my background (script stamp) and added it to the cover.

I then used a fan paint brush and applied Peacock Colour Shimmer Dust by dusting it over the area I wanted coloured and sprayed with water. I then did the same thing with Duke Colour Shimmer Dust and dried with a heat gun. 

I then added some splatters of Rainforest Colour Spray and spritzed with water. Next I added the butterfly tissue paper. I wanted to add some more sparkle to the cover so I mixed some glitter with Impasto Paste and used a bubble stencil to apply several times.

I felt like I was missing something and then thought I needed to add some more green tones, so I decided to use Lush Colour Shimmer Dust.

Once I was happy with the colour layers I added some stamping using black archival ink. I also used Road Base Colour Spray and the lid of the bottle to add some small circles.

Last of all I added my metal words with strong glue and presto I have art journal cover done!! Here are some more pictures of the journal cover.

Using the Colour Shimmer Sprays

in a selection of colours over Black Cardstock

The first Step was to choose my colours.

Bling, Snow White, Envy, Singing the Blues, Tangerine Dream, Rose Petal

As always before starting I adhered my black Cardstock to Chipboard.

When we are going to get this wet the reinforcement helps.

I started by Spritzing one section with one colour. Then adding the second.

I sprayed at close range and liberally.

Make sure your surface is flat and you don't lift the layout to avoid any drips.

I continued adding colour, going back to add some extra colours in to balance once all colours where used.

Once dry it was time to stencil.

I have a new favourite and couldn't go past my Bling Colour Paste.

I ran the Paste through in particular areas mindful of where my photo would be positioned. For this layout I have trimmed down a 4x6 Photo.

Setting that aside it was time to play with these Die-Cuts from Funky Flairs.

I inked 2 with the Thyme and sprinkled with the Apple of my Eye Colour Embossing Powder.

I re-dipped the arrows whilst hot to strengthen the result.

The Dream arrow was done in Bling.

The gold ink set a strong depth of colour.

Whilst hot from the heat gun I dipped the arrow in to the Apple of my Eye Powder.

This created a nice tye-dye effect.

I finished off by gliding my white Gel pen along the edge of my layout to create a border.

I did the same for the photo, crossing 3 lines for the framed edge.

Embellishments........

I had a leaf which was apart of my die-cuts also

I spritzed this with Envy and Bling Colour Shimmer Spray then set with the heat gun.

I drew a framed edge with the black gel pen and also completed a stitched line down the centre

of the feather.

Between the Black gel pen border and the die cut edge I ran my White Gel Pen.

My Tiny Flowers where spritzed with

Rose Petal, Envy and Bling Colour Shimmer Spray.

It was now time to complete the layout with the addition of sequins and my Deer Charm.

Corner edges on the photos finished this off perfectly.

Hi everyone Anita here with you today sharing my first layout and process video for this month I thought I would do a layout showing how to incorporate mixed media on your layout for those who would like to try it for the first time.

On my layout I wanted to use a doily and mist it with the Bling Colour  Shimmer Spray using a heart stencil over the top
