'Happy Days' by Amy C

Hi there Colour Blast fans. I hope you had a great Christmas with your families and friends!

I have created a layout here using lots of techniques. Hopefully, it will get your creative juices flowing, whilst indoors keeping cool!

First, using a chunky ‘hog bristle’ brush, I applied some Black Heavy Gesso. This is a great primer for your work area and - bonus! It dries really quick!

As I was using a black and white photo of my boys, I thought that the ‘Tangareen Dream’ and ‘Just Blue’ would be the perfect colour combo here.

As pictured, I used the Colour Paste in Tangareen Dream and applied it over the black with a stencil of my choice. I set it aside to air dry.

To provide a masculine colour theme, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to add some blue. Using both water and some Just Blue  Colour Shimmer Cube, I painted some of the blue around the outline of the black, then over the top of the black background.

I used a craft heat gun to help dry the paint more quickly. Then I stamped randomly around the page using a stamp of my choice and permanent blue ink.

I wanted to add some white to the background but wanted to try a different technique so using a piece of thread, I dipped it into the White Heavy Gesso

Then I placed the thread onto various parts of the black background. It worked a treat! Its amazing what can be done with simple household items sometimes!

Once I was happy with the coverage, I set it aside to dry, then set to do some embossing.

To provide some metallic appeal to the page, I used some Steel  Colour Embossing Powder. I thought this would be perfect. I applied the Versamark onto the chipboard and then sprinkled the Steel Colour Embossing Powder and applied the heat gun. The results were amazingly shiny!
After all the fun preparations, I adhered my photo into place and embellished the page.
…this is the final product!

Thank you for dropping by!
Enjoy your summer break! Amy C.
