Hi Everyone, Ree here!

Wow this month is flying...I am not even going to mention what is just around the corner...nor am I creating with that in mind!!

This post is quite grungy and I had heaps of fun moving away from the straight and neat that I seem to be creating lately. I have had no success with getting messy, when my intentions are to do so!!

This layout was full scrunch, smash, spray, scuff and scold!

My friends decided it would be fun to gather together and try Paintball...on each other. Sorry but shooting mates is not my cup of tea, it is plain madness to me though I had fun 'shooting' them in their camo gear after all the action.

So it seemed fitting to give the illusion of camo in the background of this LO =)

I started by building up my sprays, Rainforest, Road Base and Coffee seemed fitting!

Some stamping with scrunching and scuffing to follow (sorry I missed capturing this part!)

Throw in some embossing with Leather, what a great shine this has!

Please excuse my explicit language, I was going to leave that off until after but forgot....

"It's the end of the Christmas Gift Tags...." by Melissa Struhs

Happy Friday Colour Blast Fans!

When I last blogged two weeks ago, I hadn't given much thought to making any kind of start on Christmas crafting but I am happy to say the house is decorated, the shopping has begun and now comes the fun part of wrapping and the finishing off the handcrafted gift tags.

If you want to refresh your memory, here is Part 1 of the last blog post so you can see the start... remembering that I used assorted sized kraft tags and wood veneer Christmas shaped embellishments.

When it comes to these kind one off style gift tags, I like to dig through a bag of embellishments that live in the back of the cupboard and are usually old supplies that I am not particularly fond of anymore. Perhaps you will recognise a few of these as they are probably in your scrap stash too!

You can see that I love solid blocks of colours for decorating around our home for the Christmas season like lime green...

hot pink and

orange. Far from a traditional look for Christmas.

To finish of my hubby Adam's tag, an oval shaped craftwood shape

(Who has one of these?.... Okay, I have more than one!!)

was given several coats of White Heavy Gesso and dried off with my heat gun.

A damask style stencil was used to decorate the flat and raised section of the wooden shape

with Snow White and Apple of my Eye Colour Paste. I love the lighter shades achieved when the two colour start to blend together.

Here are the layers coming together as each of them are glued into place, leaving the holes of the tags free for dressing up later on.

This next one is all for me and I really wanted something with all little more of a white base, so I started by adding a thick strip of mesh tape to the kraft tag base.

The same stencil was used but this time with a combination Snow White and Lipstick Colour Paste .

When it was dry, I felt like a bolder look of white was needed and just went in with my palette knife and smeared gesso across the right side.

As the layers pieced together, the silhouette shape of the Christmas tree has the gesso base underneath.

And last, but not least my sons, Griffin's gift tag. It uses an embellishment so old...I recall buying it when he was maybe 2 or 3.

(Yikes, definitely time to use it!)

The clear acrylic frame was flipped over and the stencilled technique was applied to the reverse side of the frame with Tangareen Dream  Colour Paste.

This took about half an hour to dry naturally and then layered together with elements from Part 1.

Revisiting the old supplies can be a lot of fun and we know that all of the Colour Blast range gives you so many options for altering everything.

Hi Colour Blast fans!

Here is my first page share for December. And this one is all about the layers. Layers of Colour Blast!

Before I show you how I did it, here is the final page:

I started with warm orange and yellow tones, and then at the last minute threw in the turquoise colour; I do love how this colour combination turned out!

Let's look at how I created this page.

I gathered some random charms, chipboard and lace.

And glued them to a piece of white cardstock. I clustered them, with a good idea of where I would layer my photo and title at the end.

Next, I grabbed my White Heavy Gesso - and painted a thick coat over the page, bits and pieces and all!

And the gesso provided perfect coverage of the charms, chipboard and lace.

Now for the colour! I first started with Colour Spray in Sunset.

A few sprays of the Sunset was all I needed as I also sprayed some water to get a more water-effect on the page. I used my heat gun to dry it completely.

Next I took some Colour Shimmer Dust - in Amber....

and painted the Amber colour to highlight certain elements on the background, like the chipboard stem. I also did some splatters from my brush while my brush was wet!

I did the same with Colour Shimmer Dust in Sunflower - painted highlights on the page and made some splatters.

Every page needs some Colour Paste, and I went with Bling this time. I just used the Bling through a flower stencil in a few spots around the page.

At the last minute, decided to add some Colour Shimmer Spray, in the amazing colour of Deep Water. I made a few small sprays with the Deep Water, as well as splattering some of the colour using the end of the spray wand.

I also sprayed it directly onto the chipboard title and some white flowers. I love how it takes the colour and shimmer!

Colourblasted Christmas Cards by Tina Connolly

Hello everybody, with Christmas just around the corner I thought I'd share these mixed media cards I created.  They are fun and quick and allow you to test out some different techniques - don't be afraid to play and experiment!

I mixed Wisteria  Colour Mica Powder with some heavy Gel Medium and applied through a Stencil Hut stencil.  Then I added Passion  Colour Shimmer Dust to the mix and applied it on my second card.  The excess was smeared onto my die cuts, and then  Snow White Colour  Embossing Powder was sprinkled on top and heated with a heat gun until melted.

I sprayed some other diecuts with Love  Colour Spray, then added Fire Engine  Colour Paste to the edges,  Snow White Colour Embossing Powder was used to add extra sparkle. 

 Backgrounds were sprayed with a mixture of Singing The Blues  Colour Shimmer Spray. Lagoon and Carribean Colour Sprays.  Peacock Colour Shimmer Dust was sprinkled onto some of the cards whilst still wet.  

Adhere all the elements once dry and you're done!
