I've got a Birthday Boy in my house this weekend!

So I have a card showcasing some Colour Blast Paste and Embossing Powder.

I have plans for this card so what you are seeing today is Step One.

I went with a Vibrant Blue Card base.

Something a little different but I wanted contrast.

(Remember I have Plans)

I chose the Steel and Snow White Colour Paste.

Working around the edge of the card I used Steel and in the middle used the Snow White graduating it out.

I wanted to create a brightness in the centre.

Next I got the Dusty Charcoal and a Lollypop Stick.

I used this to freehand draw my circles.

 I LOVE the Snow White embossing Powder and used this with a cloud white Chalk Ink to Emboss my chipboard "9" and the tail of my Wood Flag.

I did this in 2 Layers to get a stronger coverage.

This is also a good technique to use when layering colours to customise your tones.

I embellished this one using all off-cuts from previous projects.

Cards are a great opportunity to use up all those goodies we just cant seem to part with after we have completed our layout.

I left the chipboard (Also Off-cuts) Raw.

I liked the texture is added this way.

I like to personalise my cards inside and I'm going to keep that secret just till the Birthday Boy see's it.

Hi Everyone,

Trudi back with today sharing some more Colour Blast fun! 

I have been having lots of fun with the Shimmer Sprays. For my project, I have worked with Leather and Deep Water to create a grungy girl page. 

 Deep Water was spritzed over the background strips of paper. I really like the effect when you only put a  small amount of pressure on the nozzle - lovely splotches and splatters can be created.

 2Crafty Chipboard cogs and word title were spritzed with Leather. The cogs had a couple of applications whilst the title also had Deep Water randomly spritzed over it - this created a lovely variegated effect. The square collage panel sitting behind the photo was first inked with Deep Water then spritzed over the top.

Die Cut elements from coordinating paper were also altered with Leather and Deep Water.

Deep Water was also added to the metal butterfly - I removed the nozel and flicked with a paint brush.

Hello everyone. I'm back again to share another one of my scrapping pages.

Today I felt like getting out some of my pretty laces. And what better way than to add

 gorgeous colour with my Colour Shimmer Sprays. I just love the vibrant colour and shimmer. 

Firstly I started with painting my white cardstock with white Gesso. Once dry I used

 some light modeling paste through my stencil.

Once dry I stuck down my lace, doily, fabric flowers & some beading (very hard to see). 

I also painted a zipper, charm & clay mask with white gesso.

Using my Colour Blast Sprays in Lovely Lilac, Rose Petal, Singin' The Blues & Deep Water I alternated until I had my lacey area covered. Don't forget to give your sprays a shake each time.

Using my Dusty Charcoal with a paint brush I added some deep colour around some edges.

 I used 2 layers of Dusty Charcoal Embossing Powder on my letters and also as a very 

thin border around the edge of my page 

I added some random stamping with a music note stamp.

Time for some embellishments. I added some metals, string, 

diamond dust, beads & micro beads.  

I also used a light spray of Dusty Charcoal on this paper flower.

I was absolutely delighted at how beautiful the fabric flowers and laces came 

up with the sprays. Very hard to capture on the photos but I recommend having a play.

A big scrappy Hello to everyone! 

It's Michelle back with a LO and a small step by step for you all. 

First here is the Beachy LO (yes another one!!! Sorry but that is our happy place, as you can see on my little fella's face.):

And now here is my process, (apologies in advance for the poor pics, I tend to create at night so shadows are an issue when I try to get the process shots, so just try to imagine the real colour LOL)

First I coated my page with a layer of clear Gesso. Once dry I randomly stamped about the page with Archival ink and a background stamp. A tip for random stamping....I never use a block as I do not want a perfect image. Tip 2 always use Archival or Stazon ink so it will not react with any wet mediums you put on top.

I taped up a stencil because I only wanted to use parts of it, I then spread a couple of pastes through the stencil. 

  

Once the paste was dry I splashed some Shimmer sprays around to create the rest of my background. The colours I used are Bling, Steel and Deep Water.

   

While the background is drying, I embossed my chippies. The panel is embossed with a combination of Bling and Deep Water and the hash words are embossed with Bling.

I then worked on layering my paper scraps under my photo, stamped a sentiment, and embellished with a few enamel dots, and my page was complete!

Epic Uncles by Krisy Podolak

Today for my DT share I have put together a Scrapbooking layout that incorporates the Colour Pastes, Colour Shimmer Sprays and Colour Embossing Powders.

To start, I chose to use black cardstock.  On black cardstock the shimmer sprays just shine and look amazing.  So, I masked off half the background with plain paper and  used a stencil on the remaining side and just misted away in Steel.

Once it was dry, I used the Colour Paste in Steel through a Whichcraft stencil. In the centre of the page only. This was all I did to create my background.

To create the title I used a piece of chipboard from my collection and roughly embossed it the first time with Bling, then while it was still hot and sticky added another layer.  This time I used Steel.  Then finally while it was still hot, I added another sprinkle of Bling.  This gives the chipboard a metal like ombre finish without being obvious.

I mounted the entire page on white along with the photo to make it pop. Then I put it all together with a little bit of texture - Thread, punchinella, cheesecloth and finished it with a Charms Creation DIY Star and a Flutterby Designs Flair button.

Canvas "Make a Wish" by Nirvana Peggy

Hi Everybody!!!

Today, I create a video/tutorial forr my small canvas "Make a Wish and Cross Fingers"...

I hope that the technique will please you!!

I put a little "Deep Water" Colour Paste over a plastic sheet, mixed it with water to create a wash, then spread it well over the plastic. Next I put the plastic on my canvas and moved it around to spread the mixture and create a patchy background. I then set it aside to dry. Once dry I repeated the process using "Leather".

Next, using the Colour Shimmer Spray's in "Deep Water" and "Leather" I put splatters of colour across the canvas by taking the sprayer off the top of the bottle and flicking the spray from the bottom of the tube. I also splattered some dark brown ink over it to ad extra dimension.

Once the ink was dry I stamped a background stamp over the canvas in random spots using a dark brown ink.

I embossed the chipboard dandelions using Leather Colour Embossing Powder with two layers of powder for added depth. Combine these on the canvas with the little words and there you have it!

Beautiful like Me - Art Journal page by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

My turn on the blog again with a dark but shimmery art journal page with one of my favourite sayings. You can really see the shimmer and shine on the black background!! This has to be one of my favourite art journal pages I have made to date, just love how the colours turned out.

Colour Blast products used include Deep Water, Envy,Apple of my Eye, Royalty, Bling and Just Blue Colour Blast Pastes and Sprays. Click on this link for more information.

Now onto the tutorial - 

Roughly spread a liberal amount of heavy body black acrylic paint with a palette knife or spatula over your page. While it is wet, place black thread over your page, avoiding the area on the right where your flower stencil has to be used.

Step 2 - Grab a palette knife and your favourite stencil and starting in the middle spread your different coloured pastes from the inside out...

Make sure you clean your palette knife in between colours - baby wipes are perfect for this job!

Step 3 - Spread your coloured Pastes around the outside part of the stencil to add a bit of colour in the left hand side of the journal page, just in several patches leaving the right hand side to be the side with the most colour.

Step 4 - Grab another stencil, I used a script letter stencil, hold it a couple of inches from your page and spray quite closely to the stencil as pictured with co-ordinating Colour Blast Sprays.

Step 5 - Once you page has dried, grab some glue.... bend and shape your peacock feathers  around the stenciled flower and glue them down, fanning out the strands of the feather as you go.

Final Step - Grab a few Colour Blast Shimmer Sprays, I used Bling, Deep Water, Just Blue, Envy and Royalty and spray over the top of the page and add splatters and drips using a fan brush. Also add your quote or saying, i used the computer to print up my saying and i sprayed some colour sprays over the top to make them blend in to the background a little more.

I hope you can see the versatility of the Pastes and Sprays on a black background and in your Art journalling especially. The colours and the shine is AMAZING!!
