A Big Thumbs Up!! by Danielle Vertigan

There is so much for me to love in this layout....

My daughter is very outgoing and is very much like her Daddy.

Today I get to share a snippet of the moments they share with of coarse my favourite products Colour Blast.

My first step was to use the Black Heavy Gesso

and a paint Brush on my 12x12 sheet of cardstock.

Using this I roughly painted an offset diamond with two longer sides. 

Once this was dry I selected a range of Colour Shimmer Sprays that would tie in with my photograph.

The colours I've chosen are

Sunshine, Tangerine Dream, Envy

Singing the Blues, Just Blue

and Blush

Using my chosen stencil I layed it over the Black Gesso, as pictured you will see the stencil doesn't completely cover the gesso image.

I slightly moved the stencil when needed.

Using the complete colour selection I sprayed around my layout.

I kept my image close by and used this as a guide to help dictate the colour pattern.

You will notice from the below image I moved the stencil down to complete my spritzing however I chose not to move it the right if my page.

This is completely up to your personal choice.



I then selected 2 texture stamps and began with the arrows which I randomly stamped around the border of my diamond.

I find doing this without a block gives me the flexibility to bend my stamp so I can avoid square edges.

I then used the second stamp to fill in any gaps.

The grid stamp is perfect for this and used again without a block.

Then using a black Gel Pen I added a border freehand you can use any design.

Today I have gone with a simple double line and add a few scratching's.

Its time for Colour Paste fun and toady I'm playing with

Sunshine, Tangerine Dream,

Lipstick and Just Blue

I've gone with these again guided by my image.

I added these over the Colour Shimmer Sprays sticking with the same colour pattern.

I am currently loving this circle stencil is fast becoming a new fav!

I like to try and use up my offcuts where I can.

all these stripes pictured where collected into a pack from a previous layout.

I simply started layering these behind my photograph.

I'm pretty happy with how the backing turned out.

The arrow and tag where apart of the same collection and added in

I added some Journaling which I'm finding myself doing more and more these days.

At this point I wanted to add a touch of Star Power.

Sing'n the Blues Colour Paste was just what I needed.

This was also a great way to wrap in my journaling so it became apart of the layout itself.

The last touch was a little white splatter.

I used the water with my Heavy White Gesso and flicked it across my layout

with a thin paint brush.

This gave me the last touch I needed.

A few close ups of how these Products look layered together.

The Shimmer from the Sprays is by far always a standout.

I like the contrast of colour from the White Cardstock and the Black Gesso

I went back over a few areas using a baby wipe to remove any gesso from over the Colour Paste that I wasn't happy with.

Its easy to do and can be done visually.

I'm really loving the Layers and textures on this one.

Street Art by Lynn Good

Hi there, Lynn here for the last day of the month.  I would like to share a layout I made of some street art in Melbourne.

I have used Colour Paste, in Royalty, Sunshine and Rose Petal with a texture tool to create stripes.   

Then I've added Singing  the Bules Colour Past through a stencil to give the bubble effect.

Next I used a white is a Dylusion Paint Pen to add some freehand bubbles and lines.

"Shine Shine..." by Michelle

Hi Colour Blast fans so happy you could join me today!

I am back to share a scrapbook LO and a small step by step technique on how to create this background!

So without further ado, here is the page in full:

And here is a little step by step:

I wanted to see if I could add a little gold shimmer to the Colour Pastes that I selected (Deep Water & Singin' the Blues). So I experimented by adding a touch of gold pigment powder.

 

It gave the paste a lovely shot of gold so it suited my photo perfectly!

Next I used the pastes through a piece of lace, like you would when using a stencil.

When you pull the lace up you get the lovely textural lace as a print on your page.

I then moved the lace a little and used the pastes in their original form (without the added gold pigment) on another part of the page. You can see the colour difference below.

Be sure to wash out the lace before the paste dries, then you can use it again for another project.

I then splashed a bit of contrasting colour around using Colour Shimmer Sprays in Rose Petal and Bling.

 

Then I used the Colour Shimmer Sprays (Rose Petal & Bling) to colour a few pieces of lace I want to use as embellishments. Then left them to dry.

Then I used a stamp and Archival ink to add some flowery detail to the background.

 And your background is complete! All that is left to do is to layer the embellishments and add the photo!

I have used Chipboard pieces, die cuts out of old book paper and glitter paper, epoxy dots and the lace of course!

  

The chippy flowers I treated with Colour Embossing Powders in Bling and Rose Petal. The #words I painted with black paint.

Aim For The Moon - Kerry Fellowes

Hello, Its Kerry here.  I have been inspired by all the galaxy projects I have been seeing.  I had this wooden panel in my craft room, I had painted it previously but never liked it so it sat in my UFO (unfinished object) box.  It had this great cracked texture, so I prepared it by giving it a good coat of black gesso.

 

 I started liberally spraying the Colour Shimmer Sprays in Rose Petal, Deep Water and Singin the Blues and dried it thoroughly.

 Once dry, I used a dauber and some white gesso to give some 'cloud' like areas to the panel.

 Next I used one of my favorite craft supplies... baby wipes :)  I sprayed the baby wipe with Shimmer Spray in Bling, Rose Petal, Singin the Blues, Deep Water and Snow White and dried this thoroughly also.

Then I tore the baby wipe into small strips.

 Using the Colour Embossing powder in Bling I embossed some Whichcraft chipboard embellishments.

To put it all together I flicked some 'stars' with white ink on the background and painted a few with a fine brush. I layered my baby wipe with some black gauze.  I attached the embossed stars and frame and printed this quote (one of my favorites, some people say its by NV Peale, other sources say W Clement Stone). A sprinkling of glitter and microbeads and we're finished :)
