Neutrals that Shimmer with bling by Danielle Vertigan

Its funny how you gravitate to certain Colours.

When I first starting playing with Colour Blast

I was a big Envy and Deep Water fan.

It featured heavily in my layouts and craft projects.

Skip forward to today and I have a new love.

Sunshine and Sienna!!!

The Neutral tones really are gorgeous together.

The Sienna adds a beautiful earthy depth and will not disappoint with its shimmer. 

So first things first you will need White 12x12 cardstock and

chipboard. Theses are layered together to re-enforce our project.

Its time to select your colours.

I used the Sunshine Shimmer Spray first and spritzed my page.

Next using the Sienna Shimmer Spray I spritzed in concentrated areas creating pools.

I completed this one area at a time to allow me the control to rotate my page moving the access around creating my drips.

Once I was satisfied with the results I set the background aside to dry.

I added another spritzed layer using the Sunshine Shimmer Spray.

I love this look.

I was careful not to move page so I could prevent them from spreading.

The Sienna  Colour Paste Is a Gorgeous Colour.

When you use it you will be addicted.

So its time to get this onto my layout using my chosen stencil.

I again worked on my two focal areas

I added a Spritz of Bling Colour  Shimmer Spray

and added third layer of Sunshine.

Using the Road Base  Colour Spray

I removed the top and used the stalk to drip splatters onto my page.

The Black Gel pen seems to be my go to items these days.

Im really enjoys the freehand borders you can create.

Using the internal circle of my double sided tape as a guide

I drew on some layered circles.

I used the base of my bottles for the smaller circles and

freehand the tiny circles.

Inspired by my Brickwork border I added brickwork in with my

Journaling. This is a great shot above that really shows off the shimmer.

The Road Base has held a great drip as its dried.

Scrap Sisters by Rachel Dutko

Hi Colour Blast fans!

Today I am sharing my layout documenting when my friends 
Nicky and Sandra and I headed down to Scrap Matrix 
for a couple of days of classes 
with the amazing Lisa Oxley!

The initial colour inspiration came from Nicky's amazing black, white and purple scrap room, I then decided to add my favourite colour 'Envy' for a bit of a pop of colour. 

To start my page I primed with White Heavy Gesso, then to create my first background layer I sprinkled on some Midnight Colour Shimmer Dust and sprayed with water. I soaked up the excess water with paper towel, then once it was completely dry I added another layer of Road Base Colour Spray.

The next step was some Royalty Colour Paste through a stencil.

To create the feathers, I applied Envy Colour Paste through a stencil 3 times  then cut them out and outlined with a pen.

I've added some embellishments from Flutterby Designs 

and Corbett Creations.

Do What You Heart by Rachel Dutko

Hi everyone

Today I have a bit of a 'selfie' layout to share. I've kept to my 'grungy' style, but added a few flowers and butterflies to juxtapose the 'messy' background.

To prep my page I added White Heavy Gesso to the top half of the page. I drew a line about a third of the page down with lead pencil as my 'horizon' to base my design around. My first layer of colour was to apply water-activated Midnight Colour Shimmer Dust and let it drip down the page.

I then collaged some 7 Dots Studio stickers and frames.

Next I applied some Envy, Steel and Fire Engine Colour Pastes through stencils, drying thoroughly between each colour.

I then added another layer of black, this time with Road Base Colour Spray  applied with a paintbrush for some drips and splatters.

I then added my embellishments, title and photo.

I coloured the heart of my wood veneer title with 

Fire Engine Colour Paste 

to bring some more texture and bring focus.

You Are My Sunshine by Suzy Loudon

Hello again. Today I set myself a challenge. You see I have difficulty with "white space". So I set myself a goal to doing a layout with just that. Although I am happy with my finished page I still don't think I did the "white space" as to what I had in mind.

Here's a quick step by step as to how the page came about.

To begin with I lightly sprayed Sapphire Colour Spray, Just Blue & Steel Colour Shimmer Sprays though a stencil. Once I had covered the area I wanted I lifted the stencil up and dripped the spray sitting on the stencil onto the page making drip splatters

I then placed some Steel Colour Paste into a snaplock bag & cut off the tip making my own piping bag. I squeezed it out making squiggles on my page. 

I did the same thing using Singin' The Blues Colour Paste, But this time I cut off a smaller amount off the corner of my piping bag to make a finer squiggle.

Here's a close-up of my prepared background. Tried to catch the shimmer but is so hard.

While waiting for my paste to dry I embossed my chipboard. Using my embossing dauber I only covered parts of my chipboard (rather than coating the entire piece) & used Just Blue Colour Embossing Powder. Then embossed the remaining chipboard in Singing The Blues Colour Embossing Powder. I added an extra coat to really blend the colours together.

I sprayed my die cut dream catcher with Steel Colour Shimmer Spray (very hard to see sorry)

I painted my little chipboard letters with Black Heavy Gesso

To colour my white flowers I mixed the smallest amount of Navy Colour Shimmer Dust with water dabbing onto my flower with a paint brush. For another flower I also used the smallest amount of Sapphire Colour Spray & mixed it with water to lighten. Another I sprayed in Just Blue Colour Shimmer Spray. I also used the bits left on my craft mat to add highlights to the flowers.

I layered some papers & a doily behind my photo & stuck down my elements.

I covered my photo & splattered some Road Base Colour Spray.

To finish I backed my page onto a dark navy card.
