To make my background really pop, I used the a4 That Way Stencil and Fire Engine Colour Paste. I love how this turnde out. The staars really pop from the road base colour spreay.

Today I decided to play with my Queen Bee Kit. I LOVE getting the kits, its a great way to get your favourite collections and also see some great project inspirations from the lovely ladies. This time, I'm playing with Fi's Fearless Brave and Free Collection- and Oh My, is it amazing
I decided to start with the A5 Free Hand Stencil. To add some texture to my page, I decided to use crackle paste through my stencil. I am currently using a book I brought from an Op shop as an art journal at eh moment. I'm loving the look of the altered book. It makes for some interesting texture and patterns in my pages.
Next, I decided to add some colour. Knowing that the Road Base Colour Spray from the kit wouldn't stay black over my white crackle paste, I decided to use some Love Colour Spray over the crackle paste, and blend into the Road Base towards the center of my page- I just ADORE how this turned out.
You can see how the colour has seeped into the cracks left from the crackle paste.
I wanted to add something more to the page, but was loving the way my colours were working together, so I decided to use the Fearless Clear Stamp with some black archival ink to add a subtle layer to the background.
Even though it is black on black, you can see the texture of the stamp in the background. It just gives the page that little something more in the detail.
So this is where I am with my page. you ever create something you love so much, you don't want to add anything else to it for fear of taking away from the awesomeness you have created lol. That's where I am. I love this page as is, and cant bring myself to add to it.
So I've been in a bit of a creative funk lately. When that happens, I find it helps to some times, just play in my junk journal. Junk Journals are good for this purpose, in the sense that, it's not an entirely blank page you are starting with, and I find this really helps.
I like to start by grabbing some supplies, and just not thinking about it too much. I don't always end up with something I love, or even something I like, But the process gets my hands in the art supplies.
In this case I grabbed some of the older Artist Inks- I recently found these when reorganizing my supplies. I wanted to use them up, and they were a great size to dip a paint brush into. Just by dipping my brush and adding it to the paper, my background came together quite easily.
One of my go to supplies for backgrounds is mark making stamps. It is easy to effortlessly add some interest to your background with some stamps.
Then all that is left is to add a focal image or a quote of some kind to complete the page. I love the Bee Arty quote stencils for this exact purpose.
Its a great activity to help get the mojo flowing and get your hands messy- something that always makes me feel better.

Today I am playing in my art journal, and using a mixture of stencils to create a unique focal image.
Starting with Colour Sprays, I have created my background, using them with a paint brush to give me a water coloured background. I've added layers of colour to give me a vibrant background.
Using my stencils, I have added texture to my background, and then also made my focal point., I have used to separate quote stencils combined, to make a unique quote.
I really love how this page turned out. To see it come together, check out the process video.
I tend to use white cardstock alot, soplaying with the Pattern Paper in this collection was very different for me. Because I couldn't help myself, I started with some white texture paste and the Boxed In stencil.
Then I added some of my favourite Calypso Artist Ink. I love the way the ink moves around the texture paste. Such a great effect with very little effort.
I layered my photo on more of the pattern paper, then used the Cut a part sheet to embellish and also add my title. I loved working with this Pattern paper- So my style.
I have an art journal page to share with you today using lots of Bee Arty Stencils, and the fabulous Artist Inks. Artist Inks are some of my favourite mediums to play with.
I wanted to get messy and arty, and what better way than to make an art journal page using some of my fave inks. I wanted some texture in the background, so I started by applying crackle paste through the A4 Imprinted Stencil.
Then it was time to play with my Artist Inks. I enjoy using them, not only in the massive range of colours they come in, but also when you mix them together, you get completely new colours. When mixing to make a new colour, I add drops of ink onto the page together. To get a mixed colour you always need to add wet to wet. Then I spritz with water and let them blend.
Once I had my colour I started to play with my stencils. I did try stamping to start with, but due to the crackle paste and texture in the background, it just didn't work very well, so I covered that up with some stenciling and black paint.
I used mostly black paint for the stenciling, but I did go back over my title with white paint to make it stand out more. I added splatters in both white and black paint, one to use up any spare paint I had, and two, because I love splatters and I love the messy look lol.

Today I have a mixed media layout using the awesome Artist Inks. these are some of my favourite products, and so versatile. I'm using them in a number of different ways today.
To start, I added Calypso and Grass Artist Inks together. Using water and a heat gun, I blended them around my page to give me my base. Mixing the 2 colours gave me a really nice colour that matched my photo. When used wet on wet, these Inks blend beautifully.
To add some texture and contrast to my background, I used some white gesso through the Imprinted A4 stencil. I also used my leftover gesso to add some white splatters- nothing goes to waste.
Adding more to my background, I have used my Marine Artist Ink as a stamping ink. I added the ink to a stamp block, inked up my stamp with it, then added it to my background. This gives a great watercoloury/flowy look to the stamping.
I also used the Marine Artist Ink to dye my gauze for my background layers. I love adding textured layers, and the artist inks are perfect to colour your textile layers. I added the gauze behind my matted photo to make a focal point for my photos.
I decided to add a little more to my backround, by adding another stencil to my page. Im using the That Way A4 Stencil. Again, I'm using my artist inks for this. I put some of the Calypso Ink on my stamp block, and used a sponge to ink through the stencil.

Chrissi here with my first project for the month. This month I am Playing with the Untangled Collection designed by the fabulous Tanya Froud.
I love everything about this collection. I started with Colour Spray Inks in Sapphire, Lagoon, and Caribbean. I sprayed these very generously onto my page. Then I smooshed my pages together to blend the ink. I love using this technique on a page- It also gives you another pre-made background to use on the other side.
With colour on my background, it was time to add some texture, pattern and interest to my page. I used the Violet Colour Spray to add contrast. I sprayed this through the Boxed In stencil.
A neat little trick I love, is once you have used a stencil the traditional way, you are left with alot of ink still on your stencil. I like to then use my stencil as a stamp, and press that left over ink to my page. It gives you a great negative of your stencil.
Its a great way to get another use out of your stencils and also no ink goes to waste. I love the look this gives you on a page.
I love the A4 sized stencils available. Using the A4 Loops and Lines stencil from the collection, I added a border to my page. I felt it needed a bold pop and the black gesso is perfect. To make my border pop a bit, I used a white gel pen to go around my black gesso.
I wanted to add more texture to my background so I traced over some of the boxed in stencil with a black pen. Then I used the patterns from the Making Your Mark Stamp Set. I used a mixture of the stamps to add alot of texture to my background.
I intentionally added alot of the patterned stamps to my background to make it look very busy. I felt this went with the quote.
To add some finishing touches, I went around some of the stamped images with a black pen to make them stand out more, and I used my white gel pen again to give my quote some interest.

Every month there is a new challenge over on the Bee Arty Facebook Page, and this months challenge is a monochromatic theme.
Yo make my layout, I started with some Colour Blast Colour Spray in Caribbean. Using a large mop paint brush, I applied the spray strait from the bottle onto my page. I had first spritzed my page with water to give me that wet on wet flow. Then to move the ink around, I spritzed with more water.
After making sure this was dry, I then add some texture to my page by using the Enough Stencil. For this I used the darker Sapphire Colour Spray. It gave me a great tone on tone look. I had a small area of over spray that bothered me, but I managed to cover that, by using the left over ink on the stencil as a stamp, and stamping the stencil to my page- same stencil, different look.
I was really loving this backroug but I wanted to addmore to it, so I decided to do some stamping. Using a distress oxide ink and the Going my Way Stamp Set I added these cute star clusters.
Finding the layers around my photo a little too plain, I decided to add some grungy spots using the edge of the arrow stamp to add some interest.
To finish off the page, I doodled around some of the stars with a black pen and also gave my page a doodled border. I always love those little touches to finish a layout. Then I added my title and a touch of journalling.
