You & Me by Suzanne Franin

Hey Everyone Suzanne here

This week's Colour Blast project I HAD to use the new stencil I'd gotten Colour Blast Boho Mandala Stencil from the Follow Your Dreams range it's so pretty

Make sure you check out the Shop for the latest releases
Also, check out our Stockists for our range of products and help out a small business

Look at these two how gorgeous are they
Mum took them to one of those pop-up shops where they take the pictures in the shopping centres and had a whole heap of photos done and when I saw them I asked if I could do a canvas of one of the photos she said for sure not knowing what I was going to do
It was so hard to pick as there were so many of them together and apart but this was the most fun out of all of them
And lucky for me their mum loved it

I used the Colour Blast White Heavy Gesso on all the embellishments and the canvas to prime everything so that whatever medium I was going to use on them would adhere with no problem
I used the Colour Blast Boho Mandala  Stencil from the Follow Your Dreams range with some clear impasto
I'd have to say this is my new favourite stencil it's so pretty

With the background, it took a while to work out what colour to go with I was going to do it in Snow White Shimmer Cube but the Lady I made it for said the other colour she liked was purple (she hadn't seen what I was doing with the photo until I was finished)
So I used the Colour Shimmer Cube Royalty

I used the Colour Artist Ink Slipper and some water for the flowers as they weren't white and didn't look right
I also used it on a few of the other embellishments

I used a Flair from Embellish With Flair it's from the You Make Me Smile Set
I also used some Cocoa Vanilla Studio Happiness Accessory Stickers and Die Cut Ephemera set
The Heart is from Finnabair and I filled it with some Silver Art Ingredients Glass Glitter and used a Cocoa Vanilla Studio saying sticker from the Happiness collection to put on top same as I did with the saying on the arrow
The chipboard arrow is from a Memory Maze Set Arrow love me and you

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come back soon x

Escape by Suzy Loudon

Hi everyone. You can find my latest layout on the Colour Blast Blog today.

To begin my layout I used Heavy White Gesso through a stencil.

I mixed up/activated some Navy  Colour Shimmer Dust with water. I made it quite strong/dark. Then using some cling wrap I dabbed it onto my page.

After activating some Midnight  Colour Shimmer Dust I dabbed it onto the bottom section with my cling wrap. Then very lightly over the blue.

Using my Bling Colour  Shimmer Spray I gave it a spritz. The unscrewed the top I splashed some splotches around.

I spread Just Blue  Colour Paste lightly through another stencil. Then lightly went over some of the blue with Dusty Charcoal   Colour Paste

Using the Compass Die I cut out some chipboard before painting it with Heavy Black Gesso.

I sprayed some cheesecloth with my spray I made up with Navy Shimmer Dust. Then dried it gently with my heat gun.

Using the Confidential Stamp Set I stamped around some tags & inked around the edges.

I painted my chipboard palm trees with Heavy Black Gesso before dabbing some Bling Colour Paste with my finger.

I embossed my little letters with Just Blue Colour  Embossing Powder. Once heat activated & before it set I sprinkled a small amount of Dusty Charcoal Colour  Embossing Powder  over the top. Then heat setting it.

I forgot to take a photo, but I activated my Bling Shimmer Cube with water. Then brushed it over my title.I then put all my elements together finishing it off with some beads & micro beads.
Here are a few close ups.

Thanks for looking.
Don't forget to check out all  the other great projects.

Happy Days by Suzy Loudon

Hi everyone. I am back to share another layout with you.

To begin with I cut strips of black & white print paper. Then glued them down in a cross pattern on white card.

I activated some Duke Colour  Shimmer Dust with water.

I pipetted some onto my page. Then sprayed these spots with a squirt of water to spread around.

I tore around the edge of my page. Then grabbed another white card which I stamped around the edge then inked. The top page was then stuck down onto the backing card.

I painted my chipboard with Heavy Black Gesso.

Using my finger I dabbed some Just Blue  Colour Paste in a few areas on the chipboard.

First I embossed my title with Dusty Charcoal  Colour Embossing Powder. After heating it but before it set I quickly sprinkled some Just Blue  Colour Embossing Powder then heat set.

I activated my Just Blue Shimmer Cube with water before painting some white flowers.

Using my activated Duke  Colour Shimmer Dust I painted some white flowers. It had been a few days since I began so a lot of the water had evaporated so I put some onto my craft mat then added some water to dilute it a little. Once painted I dabbed the darker mix onto the edges of my flowers,

I sprayed some Road Base  Colour Spray onto some more white flowers.

After putting all my elements together I finished it off by adding some micro beads.

Here are a few more close ups.

Thanks for looking.

Masculine Cards by Amy Churchward

Hello there, Colour Blast Fans, it’s Amy here!
If you are like me, being a mum with boys with friends with parties to go to… then it is handy to be able to make masculine cards.
So here is how I created these cards.
I cut four card bases to create the traditional card sizes – C6. Score with either the scorer or your trimmer or a bone folder.
Next I cut four white bases, using water colour paper, cut to fit onto the base card stock.
Then to create the background for all the cards, I used various techniques, as follows:
Watercolour – wet the paper, then with a paint brush, applied some Deep Water Colour Shimmer Spray and moved the paper around to allow for good coverage.

Created circles – using the lid of the Carribean  Colour Spray, stamped onto the coloured surface.

Splattered some Deep Water Colour Shimmer Spray and Carribean Colour Spray using the straw from the bottles.
More colour: using the Apple of My Eye Colour Shimmer Cubes with water on a paintbrush, I applied it sporadically over the prepared background. This really added another dimension to my creation!

After the card backgrounds were prepared, I moved onto giving my embellishments a splash of colour.
After I primed the chipboard cogs with Heavy White Gesso, I coated them with Sunshine and Apple of My Eye Colour Shimmer Cubes – I love the versatility of these little treasures!
Using a permanent based ink, I stamped the background with a stamp with some ‘industrial appeal’ – you could use whatever stamp you choose, though.
Heat Embossing. Using a heatgun, I heat embossed the chipboard words in the Just Blue Colour Embossing Powder – which added a superb striking and vibrant effect.
I adhered the water colour panels to the card stock, then arranged the chipboard and embellishments onto the cards as desired
…and voila!
Here are some close-ups of the cards…

Happy card making!
