Embrace Imagine Encourage - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Bee Arty Lovelies!

It's Karyn here and today I have an art journal page to share with you made using the Embrace Change collection from Bee Arty.

I created this page in my DWM Multi Media Journal on a hessian page.  Next I used the Capture Stencil with Leather Colour Paste.

I've created a Grungy Filmstrip die cut on kraft cardstock then added three 350gsm white cardstock rectangles 4cmx3.5cm.

Here is my completed page. I've placed the filmstrip diecut in the center of the page and added diecuts using the Old leaves metal die, Autumn trio metal die and Calendula metal die cut on kraft cardstock and book paper. I then added two butterflies cut from the Embrace Change collection pack paper.

Here are some close-ups of the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by

LOVE THIS PLACE by Judy Cullen

 Hello Bee Arty Friends,

Today I am sharing with you my layout featuring our visit to Moulin Rouge in May 2019. I thought this photo would suite the Destination Anywhere kit if I kept to the black and white theme of the Arrival page with a smudge of red to make the photo pop.

1.To begin with I cut all the drawings out of the Arrival page. This allowed me to play with them all when determining the  final design. The excess I stored in a zip lock bag for later projects.

2. I have used the 350gsm white cardstock as it holds mixed media products beautifully. I started by stencilling the  CB Pavement stencil using CB Black Gesso in the left upper corner and the bottom right corner. Clean your stencil as you need it for the next step.

3. Using the same Pavement stencil drip some Sunburnt CB Artist Ink onto the bottom part of the stencil.

4. Turn  the stencil over and gently smooch it onto the top of the already stencilled area. You can do this until you are happy with the red contrast.

5. Using the CB Watermark Stamp, stamp randomly over this completed area to add some more interest and texture.

6. Mount you photo onto black cardstock and place in the centre of you layout. Now its time to put your page together. Play with your  drawings you previously cut out tucking them around and under your photo until you are happy with them. I also painted or tinted some of mine with the CB Sunburnt Ink. I added some small pieces of chipboard embossed with a mixture of Jet Black and Silver Detail CB Embossing Powder and then stamped the date, time and place using the Destination Stamp. And this is the end result. Enjoy.

Celebrate by Tracy Jackson

                                                              Hello Bee Arty Friends

Do you throw away your scraps? Im a hoarder... and even though I am running out of Bee Arty paper, I have made a quick easy card using up those pesky scraps laying around..

These strips are from the Trendsetter Collection

I picked out a white card base and managed to cut a piece of Trendsetter paper to layer on top

I stamped image using Perfect Petals stamp set onto the Trendsetter paper and then several times onto Bee Arty White card stock for layering

I don't know if I've mentioned it before , but the white card is amazing, copics blend beautifully on it, and holds water and doesn't rub when watercolouring. Its a definite thumbs up from me!

Back to the card.... I matched colour of paper with my copics and coloured the petals

Once cut out and distressed, I then layered petals for 3d effect

Finally I added to small strips and stamped Celebrate from Say It stamp set

Until next time
Happy crafting

Getting The Most Out Of Your Kits by JUDY CULLEN

Hi Everyone,

I am sharing a layout I have completed using the tiny pieces I had left from the "Aim High" collection by Cindy Porter using tags. Tags are a great resource to use when testing mixed media products, adding layers then using them on Scrapbooking or Art Journalling pages.

When I commence a scrapbooking page I usually start with a photo which then becomes my inspiration for colour and design. The photo I chose was blue and green. The blue fitted perfectly with the "Aim High" collection but I needed to add some green and decided this was an opportune time to play with CB Shimmer Dust.

This is my happy mess result and instructions on how to play along with me.

1. Cut two tags 18cm x 7cm and two tags 12.5cm x 5.5cm.

2. Cut a suitable photo 11cm x 6.5cm and mount on a piece of left-over paper with a piece of cardstock between to give some height so you can tuck embellishments in the side.

3. Now the fun part - completing those tags. To achieve the green I used CB Shimmer Dust Sunflower, Peacock and Navy. To do this sprinkle the Shimmer Dust randomly in small amounts and spray with water, continue this until you achieve the desired colour. Then add layers using words, stamps, flowers (Flower Power Metal Die) and cogs (Cog Globe Metal Die) embossed with CB Tuscan, Golden Blue and Stormy Weather. I added some washy tape, burlap and string.

4. Using the 350gsm white cardstock, attach a string/ribbon across the page about a third down from the top and anchor with a brad or staple.

5. In the bottom third use the Flower Pennant Stencil and CB Colour Paste Steel

6. Attach your tags to both ends of the string/ribbon leaving a gap in the middle for the photo using only one staple on each to allow for overlapping and movement.

7.Add a small piece of cardboard to the mounted photo so it sits on top of the tags and glue it to the page. I then tucked some cogs between these layers.

8. To finish add some small elements from your stash (paper clips, pegs, tassels, ribbon), a title and border.

Now lets see what you can do with your little bits and pieces. Cheers Judy.

To The Moon and Back with Belinda Spencer

 Hello Bee Arty fans!

It's Belinda here today to share my latest layout for Bee Arty featuring the stunning NEW Embrace Change collection by Fiona Paltridge.

To start my layout I cropped a sheet of the Gathering patterned paper to my preferred size and mounted on a cropped sheet of the fabulous 350gsm white cardstock. I then spritzed the page with Road Base Colour Blast Colour Spray and water. I played around with the colour on the page letting it drip down the layout. I also removed the nozzle from the bottle and flicked some of the Road Base over the page.

Once the page was fully dry, I then added stencilling using the gorgeous Cascading Leaves A5 Stencil and Stormy Weather Colour Blast Colour Paste.

I set the page aside to dry before adding some stamping using Jet Black Archival Ink with a stamp from the Say It Stamp Set. I added another layer of stencilling using the That Way A5 Stencil with Snow White Colour Paste.

Here you can see the awesome shimmer and shine from the Snow White Colour Paste. I love it!

And here is my finished layout.

I added lots of fussy cut flowers and leaves from the Embrace Change patterned papers as well as some pretty butterflies. I die cut the Grungy Filmstrip from the 350gsm white cardstock and added it behind a piece of the patterned paper. I also used the Autumn Trio dies to cut some leafy twigs from the patterned paper.

I cut the title and quote from the patterned papers too.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today. I hope you are loving the Embrace Change collection as much as I am.

Cheers

Celebrate Every Moment Everyday by Tracey Caampbell

Hello creative people, hope that you are all staying safe as more lockdowns happen here in Australia. Today I am sharing my latest Creative Team design using the Embrace Change Collection, it is such a lovely collection florally and grungy at the same time. The colours are delicate and masculine at the same time.

This layout looks stunning and was very simple to create, it came together very quickly and if you want to create a quick and easy layout then please follow along.

I used the following materials on my layout:

Embrace Change Papers: Gathering, Festival, Poetry and the Bonus cut-a-part sheet

Unwind Stamp Set

Sienna Embossing Powder

Clear Embossing Ink

Heat Gun

Double sided sticky tape

Scissors

Clear drying paper glue

3 dimensional tape

First up I stamped the flowers from the Unwind Stamp set onto the Gathering Patterned Paper, I stamped onto the lighter coloured side, with some clear embossing ink.

Sprinkle the Sienna Embossing Powder over the clear embossing ink, pour off the excess and activate with a heat gun to set. See the photo below for the position of the flowers.

Cut a rectangle that is roughly 6.5 cm x 25.5 cm of the Festival Patterned Paper (I used the lighter coloured side) use this as a mat for three 6.5x6.5 square photos. Position them so they run vertically down the mat paper and are slightly angled and over lapped.

Fussy cut a title from the Poetry Patterned Paper and then floral, butterflies and foliage from the bonus cut-a-part sheet.

Adhere the mated photos onto the background paper, positon so that it is slightly off centre.

To finish off using glue and 3 dimensional tape arrange the fussy cut elements around the mated photos.

Well I hope that I have inspired you to get out your scissor and do some fussy cutting, it show that you can create a lovely page with just a few items.

Hugs

Tracey

Beautiful #GLENELG by Charmane Koch

 Happy Friday Everyone!

Don't know about you guys, but TGIF! It's the last day of term here for SA and it has been an EXTRA EXTRA long dramatic week! Let alone it being everyone drained, tired & totally ready for a well deserved break, we've had the "are we in lockdown, or are we not in lockdown?" What the hell is going on???

Can't imagine the rest of the country it is a totally mental health brain drain! I think we all need to just all have a holiday at home and GET CREATIVE!!!???

The problem is I am always in limbo! And working in Aged Care, it's very unlikely that I will actually go into lockdown being an "Essential Worker" BUT I have been FULLY VACCINATED! Yay! I am one in 1 and half million to be 100% vaccinated! Not preaching, but I have done everything in my power to not spread it! I just want LIFE to get back to as NORMAL AS POSSIBLE - for ALL OF US!

ANYWAY, I may have had a couple of wines {it's Thursday almost Friday ;)} I want to share one of my ALL TIME FAVE stencil from BEE ARTY - Interwoven... I am sure I will be using this many times over as I just love the design of it!

In the sneak above I have used a technique that I shared at the Bee Arty Retreat - using Snow White Colour Paste and then sprinkling Embossing powder over the top and heating with a heat gun - however I have used 3 different Embossing powders... very carefully sprinkling so they don't fully mix together...

The sneak above is my original "practise run" where I have just used one of the Embossing Powders - Just Blue, then after Heat gunning, I have sprayed a bit of Bling Mica Powder and water using a paintbrush.

This was also my Embossing Die Cuts stage... so Embossed circular Die Cuts using Blush Embossing Powder... love this effect so much! Messy but fun!

The background paper I used was the "Confidence" Fearless, Brave & Free - which matched perfectly with my photos...

I used White 350gsm Cardstock to back the photos I used, but coloured with Royalty Mica Powder, soaking up the leftover colour with the Muslin.

The colours I really love! So VIBRANT! Hope you like too & hope I've inspired you to play!

Thanks for popping by!

XO Charm
