Same stamp different colouring mediums with Kasia

Hello lovelies, Kasia here with some fun cards this time. I've had this cute little dog background stamp for a few months now and really wanted to have a play with colouring it using different Colour Blast mediums. 

I heat embossed the above stamp with the Bling Colour Embossing Powder on plain black cardstock. Just remember to shake up your embssing powder so that the embossing powder and shimmer mix.

I then used the Colour Shimmer Cubes in literally all the colours of the rainbow going from top to bottom of the stamped image. Because this was just plain cardstock, I made sure not to use a heap of water.

I then stamped a couple more images onto watercolour cardstock. The above image was coloured with the Colour Artist Inks in Citrus, Cider, Spice, Lime, Grass, Oasis, Calipso & Marine. 

For the last image I focussed on the neutral colours in both the Colour Shimmer Dusts and Colour Artist Inks and a little bit of Colour Shimmer Cubes.

So here they are.. all coloured up and ready to turn into cards. Love how different they look just by using different mediums and on different paper.

For the first card I just die cut the coloured image, added a sentiment and adhered it to a white card base. 

For the second card I die cut the coloured image with a stitched circle die and popped it up onto a blue card base, added a sentiment and some enamel dots. 

And for this lucky last card I die cut the coloured image, backed it with black cardstock and added a sentiment.

I loved colouring up these little dogs with the different mediums and seeing what different effects I can achieve.

Art Journalling with Kasia

Hello Lovelies.. so happy to be here with you all again in 2018! Lets kick start this year with a little art journalling. I don't know about you but I look at so many amazing journal pages with the most beautiful drawings of faces.. well, I'm not terrible at it but sometimes I just want to play and not think, so when I saw these stamps from Jane Davenport I ordered them straight away.

These take the stress of drawing all those features and just let you play with flowing hair and all the other elements of the page. By all means, if you are ok with drawing, go forth and draw... lol!

I stamped one of my little faces in my X-Press It Mixed Media Journal which has lovely watercolour paper pages, as I knew I will be using a lot of water without using Gesso. 

I wet down my page with a wide brush and clean water and grabbed.. wait for it.. my Colour Artist Inks and dropped ink around where the hair would be. I didn't know at this stage how I wanted the hair, so I let the ink work that out for me.

I decided to go with upward flowing hair and painted thin lines with the Soot Colour Artist Ink and then went over them with a little water so the colour would spread a little. I let the page dry really well and went in with my Sharpie and solidified the lines a little. 

I then messily danced my brush and the Colour Artist Inks on the bottom of my page to create some grounding for my girl. While I had the Soot Ink out, I added a good amount of splatters in the background, making sure I covered the face while I did this. 

I love doodling so while watching telly I got my journal and added a whole bunch of dots to the hair. 

I then got out my white gel pen an added some white details. 

I continued doodling and added waves so I had some place holders for my text 'great things never came from comfort zones'.

I'm still so in love with these inks and how beautifully vibrant the colours are.

Painted Floral Cards with Kasia

Hello lovelies, Kasia here again with more Colour Artist Ink goodness. I am really enjoying playing with these inks and seeing how they work in different situations.

For painting I like to use a palette and drop in the into each little well and work from there. It saves my inks from getting contaminated and gives me freedom to play and mix the colours as I please. 

I also like when the ink dries in the palette as I can pick up the tiniest amount of colour on the tip of my brush.

The image left was painted with the Colour Artist Inks while they were still fluid and the image on the right was after a few more layers that were painted with the ink dry on the palette. 

I like to add many layers of colour to my paintings and these were no different. 

The above images are as previously, painted with fluid Colour Artist Inks first and then finished off with  the inks dry in the palette. 

The predominant colours of Colour Artist Inks used in these floral images were: Cranberry, Sunburnt, Spice, Citrus and Berry for the flowers and Grass, Walnut, Lime Oasis and Citrus.

I added a little white Gel Pen to one of the flowers and left the tulip just painted. I then cut down the images, added a little bling and created a couple of cards.

Textured Christmas Cards & Tags with Kasia

Hello lovelies... today I have some quick and easy Christmas cards and tags for you that would be really simple to mass produce for all those special people in your life. 

I have been wanting to have a good play with the Colour Pastes and get out some stencils I haven't used for ages. When flipping through my stencils I came across my Christmas ones that I don't think I have actually ever used, so I grabbed those, my pastes and started playing. 

I cut down a stack of cardstock to about 4" x 6" and just spread the Colour Pastes through the stencils and kept on going and going.

I tried to keep the stencilling nice and clean and crisp, but wasn't too fussed either way. I then started mixing the colours a little with one another to get multiple colours and blends.

Lets just say I had a good stack of lovely shiny textured backgrounds to use.

I then grabbed some glitter tape and covered a piece of cardstock and die cut Christmas Greetings and put together some really simple cards and tags. 

I used some foam adhesive, gold and silver thread to add some more depth and interest to my projects. 

These cards & tags really would work in any colour combo so I encourage you to grab your Colour Pastes and have a play.

Clean & Simple Cards and GIVEAWAY with Kasia

Hello again lovelies.. I'm here today with a set of clean & simple cards created with the Colour Artist Inks, Colour Embossing Powder & Uniquely Creative dies.

I heard on the grape vine a little while ago that the lovely Mel Struths had a thing for lightbulbs so was super excited when I got to turn my little lightbulb doodles into dies for Uniquely Creative. I had a million Colour Blast projects in mind when creating these dies and couldn't wait for them to be made. 

To celebrate the release of these dies, Uniquely Creative is giving away a set of the Lightbulb dies & the Scripty Sunshine die & a couple packs of Embellies too. For all the info how to enter read the info at the bottom of the email.

Now, lets get onto making some cards...   

For the backgrounds I cut down some watercolour paper to 5" x 7" and taped them down to a hardwood board with low tack masking tape. I wet down the paper with a wide brush and then dropped in little amounts of the Colour Artist Inks with a round paintbrush. 

I let each layer dry completely (you can speed up the process with a heat tool) and then wet down the surface again and dropped in more colour. 

For the greens & blues I used a combination of the Citrus, Lime, Grass, Mermaid & Oasis Colour Artist Inks. 

I did the same process here with three layers and while the last layer was still wet I sprinkled on some salt crystals and let them sit for a good few hours.. I wasn't patient enough to let them sit overnight, but if you are the effects would be a little more dramatic than on my background. 

For the above card I used a combination of the Spice, Sunburnt, Cider, Barley, Slipper & Berry Colour Artist Inks. 

I then die cut some lightbulbs, and sentiments from white cardstock and embossed them 3 times with the Bling & Stormy Weather Colour Embossing Powder, to get a lovely thick embossed effect. Don't forget to give your embossing powder a little shake before using it so that the embossing powder and sparkle mix well. 

I then created three 4.25" x 5.5" card bases, cut down a piece of glitter cardstock to 4" x 5.25" and die cut my coloured backgrounds with a cross stitch rectangle die and stacked these on top of one another to create the background for my cards. 

I then bundled up some silver and gold thread to layer under the sentiments and put together my cards. 

I also added a sprinkling of rhinestones and pearls around the sentiments to add a bit more texture and ground the sentiment a little more. 

This background was created in the same way but using the Spice, Cider & Citrus Colour Artist Inks.
