Free Spirit...with Belinda Spencer

 Hello Bee Arty fans!!

Welcome to my very first post as a creative team member for Bee Arty. I am so excited to be sharing my first project with you.

Today I have a scrapbook layout to share with you using some fabulous products.

'Free Spirit'

So to start this layout I wanted to create a pretty light wash of my favourite aqua colour on the amazing Bee Arty White Cardstock. I half filled a small spray bottle with water and then added 1 drop each of Citrus and Oasis Colour Artist Inks. I spritzed quite a lot onto the background and played around with it by tilting the page this way and that and letting the ink run. Next I dried it off with a heat gun.

I decided the colour wasn't quite strong enough so I added two more drops of each ink to the bottle for a slighter deeper colour. I added another layer using this stronger colour. I also managed to get my spray bottle to add splatters. It may have a dodgy nozzle but I love the effect. I unscrewed the top and used the 'straw' to add even more splatters before drying with the heat gun.

Next I wanted to add a bit more texture and interest to the background so I added some stamping. I used the gorgeous Peony Dreams Clear Stamp with black ink and just partially applied ink to the stamp. I also added some beautiful leafy detail using the All Class Clear Stamp Set with the black ink.

My next step was to create my paper layers that I love to stack behind my photo. For this layout I used the Spread Your Wings Elegant Tags patterned paper. I fussy cut some of the tags, shuffled them around until I was happy with the design and then stapled them together. I prefer to use staples so that I can slip things in and around my stack later. I added this stack to my layout along with a sweet heart and a scroll border from the Desire Metal Die Set as well as some messy thread.

I added a backing to the heart by spritzing some of the background colour onto some extra white cardstock, drying with a heat gun, adhering the heart and fussy cutting.

To finish I added my photo and some flowers. I added a stunning butterfly using the Butterfly Effect Die and a sweet bird on a branch using the Bird Talk Metal Die. I coloured both of these pieces using the same black ink as the stamping. I fussy cut some butterflies, the quote and the title from the Spread Your Wings Word Play patterned paper.
