I Can & I Will Watch Me by Suzy Loudon

Hi. Today I'm sharing a layout using the "Follow Your Dreams" Collection. A quick simple layout anyone can do.

To begin with I spread Dusty Charcoal Colour Paste through the 'Boho Mandala' Stencil onto a sheet of  'Dance' paper. The paste bled as I didn't realise there were bits of rubbish under my craft mat so it wasn't flush. Tip...make sure your work surface is nice & clean before starting. 

I fussy cut flowers & a butterfly out of a sheet of 'Possibility' Paper. I also cut the title out of the 'Seeker' sheet of paper.

I cut out a die cut using the 'Seeker' Die.

Using Lemon Zing Colour Paste I used it with the 'Scripted' stencil. 

I glued it all down keeping it simple. And I was done.

Mica Powder Cards by Suzy Loudon

Hi. Today I made some simple cards using the lovely Mica Powders.

Unfortunately it's really hard to capture the shimmer in the photos...but it is there.

I grabbed my Colour Mica Powders in Polar, Watermelon, Wisteria, Cool Mint, Lemon Zing & Peach. Along with that I grabbed a butterfly stamp, my Versa Mark stamp pad, my stipple brush and a white card.

I stamped the butterfly stamp onto the card. You can just see it.

To add colour I dipped my stipple brush into the mica and dabbed it onto the stamped image.

Using a feather brush I brushed off the excess mica. I continued adding colour as I went.

After starting off brushing each colour off after applying I decided to try something different. This time I added all the mica colours then brushed it all off in one go. I liked this way better.

I then moved on to embossing my chipboard sentiments with Rose Petal & Deep Water Colour Embossing Powder.

I added a spotty border using Lavender Liquid Pearls.

I felt it still needed something so I used Snow White Colour Paste through a stencil.

With that I was done.

Bono U2 by Kristy Abela

Hi Everyone...

 I have a Celebrity Spread for you today. This was a chance encounter with Bono from U2 when I was working at Seaworld on the Gold Coast. I popped the full story on the blog in some tags I used on the layout. 

I loved doing this layout it was bright and fresh and really quick. I usually take forever to pull a project together. Using Colour Blast makes it so easy. 

I used Colour Spray in Carribean and Colour Shimmer Dust in Navy to create this cross hatch effect. I used a wide nylon brush to brush vertically and horizontally crossing in the bottom left corner. 

I love the way it created little rays of sunshine in the colour. I had some left over on my craft mat so I diluted it a bit further and added some platters. I love the way the overall effect looks like a puddle and some splashes. 

I added some stamping to create emphasis along the lines. If you look closely you can see I burnt the page... OOPS!! Ill cover that up later...

Being a star studded layout I used a star stencil with some Colour Paste in Snow. I didn't want to detract from the layout so made this effect subtle.

Check out the shimmer in that paste!! I really love the way it dries translucent. All the work I created on the background wasn't covered up.

  

I use some Colour Embossing Powder in Dusty Charcoal and Sunshine on my chipboard. I didn't end up using the arrows in the end.  

Knocked up a few tags and added the story for you all to have a peek. I also used these to cover up my burn mark... Shh...

To create the title I used some Thickers that I had lying around and customised the colour to match the layout with some Colour Mica Powder in Lemon Zing.

I needed another pop of colour... but like the stars I didn't want to cover up the background. I rummaged through my stash and found some Vellum!! I used my colour artist ink SPARINGLY and spread it across the page. (I put the first layer on too heavily and it warped and buckled). I ran it through the cuttlebug to create the stars. 

I added a bit of string and some enamel dots and my final title. Done and dusted!!

 A big Hello to everyone. Today I'm sharing another layout I did of my daughter. I love this natural photo of her...always happy & bubbly & growing up fast.

I thought I'd play along with the November All About Flowers Challenge. There's still plenty of time to get your project in for a chance to win $30.00 worth of Colour Blast products.

To begin my layout I grabbed a grey toned piece of paper. I decided I wanted the edges to be darker so I gave it a spray with Road Base Colour Spray.

I then smeared some Heavy White Gesso randomly across my page with my spatula.

Using Steel  Colour Paste I added some stenciling.

I mixed some Lemon Zing Colour Mica Powder with some Mod Podge/Gel Medium. I kept adding until I was happy with the intensity of the colour.

Using a paintbrush I painted my flowers.

I activated my Midnight Colour  Shimmer Dust with water.

Then using my paintbrush dabbing the colour onto my flowers.

I left my flowers to dry naturally. At this stage I left my page & came back to it a week or so later. When I did I found that one of my flowers that had a weird coating on it had dried very light (top right corner insert).

So I gave it a spray with some Road Base Colour Spray. 

I mixed some Lemon Zing Mica Powder with some of my homemade texture paste. Again I kept adding the Mica until I was happy with the colour.

I spread my Lemon Zing texture Paste and some Dusty Charcoal Colour Paste into my silicone mould and left to dry.

I left them to dry for a day before taking them out.

And I had my feathers for the November Challenge.

I got my watered down Heavy Black Gesso & splattered it around the page.

I then splattered with my watered down Heavy White Gesso.

I painted my chipboard title with Heavy White Gesso.

I didn't think it stood out enough so I embossed it with Snow White Embossing Powder.

Putting all my elements together & my page was done.
