Mixed media Tag by Anguree Jansen van Rensburg

Hello there everyone

I'm back on the blog today sharing some techniques on how to create this mixed media card.

I started with a 12x12 sheet of watercolor paper. I created the background by spraying Colour Shimmer Spray Royalty and a tiny bit of Deep Water onto acrylic sheets and stamping it onto the page. You can use any plastick wrapper or packing material. I also added some flicks of spray.

One it was dry I added some black stamping followed by a bit of Lovely Lilac Colour Paste through a stencil.

I then decided to do a card rather than a layout so I cut my cardstock smaller and matted it onto some purple cardstock .

Once I tested my photo matt I felt like it needed more colour so I added Violet  Colour Spray and Bling Colour Shimmer Spray.

I assembled some embellishments and decided to alter them with the Colour Blast range of products to fit my card.

I embossed  chipboard pieces from ScrapFX  with a combination of Royalty and Leather Colour Embossing Powder.

Next I altered the resin face by mixing Violet Colour Shimmer Dust with soft gel to create a couple of Shadows. I also mixed some Bling Colour Paste with soft gel to highlight other areas of the face.

To alternate the flower I again used soft gel on the metal and painted on some Royalty Colour Embossing Powder and dried with a heat gun. Next I added some Bling Colour Embossing Powder and embossing fluid.

I needed some extra texture so instead of using white medical gauze I sprayed it with Mocha Colour Spray and Charcoal Colour Shimmer Spray.

Once all my embellishments were dry I adhered it to the card using 3D gel. It still needed more so I finished it off with some microbeads and a Tim Holtz word.

I hope you enjoyed this post with me and hope you visit us real soon. Please don't be shy to let us know what you think and share your creations with us in the Colourblast Creative Corner on Facebook. We look forward seeing your work and would love your input.

Till next time, have fun creating

Anguree xxxx
