Be Fearless by Tracey Campbell

 Hello wonderful people, Tracey Campbell here today to share my latest Creative Team member layout with you. I have been playing with a few of the older collections lately and wanted to show you how I used the different collections to create this fun page. 

My first step was to go through my paper stash to see what patterns and colours would work well with this photo of my youngest daughter with one of her favourite characters at Movie World. I ended up pulling paper and wordsheets from the following collections: Graffiti Grunge, Trendsetter, Fearless Brave and Free, Follow Your Dreams and Covid Capers. 

As I knew I wanted to add a bit of mixed media to the layout I used a brayer to apply a thin coat of Heavy White Gesso to the right-hand side of the Epic pattern paper from the Graffiti Grunge collection. Tip: Apply Gesso as a primer to your paper to help mixed media to adhere and not warp your paper.

When the Gesso is dry apply a small amount of Candy Colour Shimmer Dust and activate with a fine spray of water.  

Allow the activated Shimmer Dust to pool and stand the paper upright so that the pooled colour runs down the page. Once you are happy with the dribbling effect lay the paper flat to dry or use a heat gun to speed up the drying process.

When dry use some clear embossing ink with Apple of My Eye and Sunshine Embossing Power to stamp the brick wall and chain wire images from the Life is Tough Stamp Set onto the paper. I placed the images randomly over the Gesso and Shimmer Dusted area. I have posted a photo of the positioning of the stamping below the next step. 

Next I built up the texture by using some waterproof black ink I stamped the grid image from the Life is Tough stamp set horizontally and vertically across the Gesso and Shimmer Dusted area. See positioning below. 

In the photo above you can see the build up of the mixed media and stamping. 

I wanted to add some paper layering to my layout so I used small pieces of paper from the following collections: Graffiti Grunge, Trendsetter and Fearless Brave and Free. The biggest piece was a 6x4 rectangle and then just random stipes and pieces that I kept adding until I was happy with how it looked. I decided at the last minute to add some red into the layering to compliment Robin's uniform. I did this by adding small pieces of red cardstock behind the patterned paper layers, just enough to balance and not overwhelm the rest of the patterns. Adhere the photo and layers to the background, I positioned it over the top of the mixed media. 

Using the Linked In and Direct Links metal dies cut one image from each in black cardstock, cut this image into 3 pieces. Then cut one image of the Direct Links in red cardstock. Trim the chain and the hanging arrows off from the large main arrow of the Direct Links cut image - you should now have 3 separate arrows and 3 chains in both red and black cardstock. 

Tuck the 3 pieces of the Linked In image under the paper layering. Using the arrows and chains as embellishments adhere them to the page, see the final layout for positioning.  

From the Covid Capers, Trendsetter, Fearless Brave & Free and Follow Your Dreams wordsheets choose phrases/words that suit your photo and cut them out. I have picked the following phrases for my layout: "Be Fearless", "Your vibe attracts your vibe", "Hero", "Suit Up", "Strong" and "Courage". That is one thing I love about the Bee Arty wordsheets there is so many choices that you and target the theme you are going for and pick and choose. Finish off by adhere the words/phrase to the layout.

 Hello Bee Arty fans!!

Happy Easter!! I hope the Easter bunny has been kind to you.

Today I am sharing my latest layout featuring lots of amazing Bee Arty products including papers from the Graffiti Grunge and Covid Capers collections.

***PLEASE NOTE: This post includes the 'f' word so if you are sensitive to swear words please look away. In this instance the 'f' word is perfect to describe the last year for my little family.***

'F*^k Cancer'

To start my layout, I cropped a sheet of patterned paper from the Covid Capers collection and mounted it on a sheet of the awesome Bee Arty Heavy Weight White Cardstock. I then used a palette knife to spread some of the Colour Blast Black Heavy Gesso over the central area.

Next I used the black gesso again with the That Way Stencil to add some more interest to the focal area. To apply the gesso, I use a latex make-up wedge with a very small amount of gesso and apply with a dabbing motion through the stencil. This ensures that the paint doesn't bleed under the stencil and you get nice crisp edges.

I used the tiniest star stamp from the Moments In Time Clear Stamp Set with some Jet Black Archival Ink to stamp around the focal area also.

I die cut the Honeycomb Metal Die from extra heavy weight white cardstock a couple of times and fussy cut some tags from the Graffiti Grunge Perfect patterned paper. I arranged all of the pieces and stapled them together before adding to the page.

I added the photo and embellishments next. Then I stamped some more stars using the Jet Black ink and stamps from the Moments In Time Set onto the extra white cardstock. I fussy cut each star and added to the page along with some quotes cut from the Covid Capers papers as well as the Graffiti Grunge Be Yourself paper. Finally I added the title using American Crafts Thickers as well as letters cut from the Untangle Lines patterned paper.

It's Negative by Tracey Campbell

Hello and welcome everyone, it is Tracey Campbell here with a Design Team share.  I have used some of the COVID Capers Range which is perfect for these troubling times, when COVID is on every ones minds and testing has become the new norm as soon as you get a sore throat or cough.

I wanted to create a COVID inspired background on white cardstock so I went to my BEE Art stencils and pulled out two that I thought could work; Honey Hive and Circulate .

Next with some scrap paper under the stencil, I used a pencil to places dots on the outer lines of the circle that looks like a radiating sun.

I took the stencil off the paper and then drew a circle around (about 2 millimeters) the dots, then cut the circle out. I then cut out five more circles the same size (six in total).

 I placed the circles on a 12x12 piece of white cardstock  - the papers circles are being used as a mask to stop the Colour Shimmer Shine form going onto the cardstock in these places. Place the Honey Hive stencil over the top of the circles  (I placed packaging above and below where I wanted the spray to go to mask out any surplus spray going on to my cardspock where I didn't want it) and spray with Envy Colour Shimmer Spray, I repeated this process so that I had Envy Spray on the top and bottom halves of the cardstock. Remove stencil, paper circles and the packaging and let dry.

Once dry take the Circulate stencil and position over a white gap (circle shape) in the sprayed Envy Shimmer Spray. Using a palette knife spread through Blush Colour Paste, repeat so you have six of the radiating suns. 

See final layout for the positioning of theses suns.

While the Colour Paste is still wet take a skewer or the back of a paintbrush and dip it in the Colour Paste to form a small circle on the end of the lines radiating out form the Sun to create a COVID germ. Repeat on all six radiating suns.

Use a pallet knife to fill in the center of the COVID Germ to complete it.

Here is how they turned out. Please note that the Colour Shimmer Sprays give a light colour, shimmery effect that is subtle on white cardstock.

Cut out some of the images from the COVID Capers cut-a-part sheet. I also added a few diecuts to the pile that I cut out using my Silhouette Cameo.

To finish off the layout I adhered two 6x4 portrait photos into the center of the cardstock and arranged the die cuts and cut-a-part images on either side of them. Add some journalling and a title.

Welcome everyone,  today I am sharing one of many layouts I have created with the Covid Capers Mini-Range. It is perfect for documenting this crazy year we have had in 2020.

Please keep reading the step by steps as I take you through how I created this 12x12 layout using the Covid Capers Mini-range plus show you have I have used two stencils from other Bee Arty ranges where I have crossed themed them, this will demonstrate how flexible the Bee Arty stencils can be. 

Fussy cut some of the images out from the cut apart sheets.

Ink the edges of two 6x4-portrait photos with black ink, then mat the photos with a 5mm boarder using the B side of the cut a part sheet (the textured looking paper with the H, HO, O COVID formula on it), ink the edges of the photo mat with black ink.

Mix some Colour Blast Heavy White Gesso and Espresso Colour Mica Powder together to make a pale brown colour. Rad your stencil supplies and find a stencil like a honeycomb – the honeycomb look replicates the COVID Virus formula making it perfect for a Covid Theme. I used the Bee Arty Honey Hive stencil.

Spread the mixed pale brown gesso through the stencil using a palate knife, position in random spots on the B side of the “Red, Green & Blue Cute Germ” paper.

This photo show the positions of where I applied the pale brown gesso.

Next I am going to show you how I used another totally unrelated stencil and turned it into a theme appropriate creation to suit the COVID Capers range.

 I riffled through my stencil stash and found this Bee Arty Grungy Splat stencil, which I thought I could adapt. I used some washi tape to cover the longer splat streaks.

I then positioned on the stencil on the paper and sprayed generously with Envy Colour Shimmer Spray, while it was still wet I then sprayed a small squirt of Rainforest Colour Spray in the centre of the splat. I quickly removed the stencil.

Next I used a paint brush to draw out the splat lines a bit more and added a drop (with the paint brush) of Rainforest Colour Spray to the end of the line, making it into a small circle on the end to replicate the COVID Germ.

This is a close up so you can see the final shape. Work quickly enough so that the sprays are still wet to be able to draw them out.

Next use a paintbrush to splatter droplets of Rainforest Colour Spray around the paper.

Use a piece of plastic packaging and flatten the Rainforest Colour Spray droplets out, be careful not to flatten out the still wet ends of the Covid Germs that you have just created.

Once dry adhere the mated photos to the center of the paper, position similar to how they are shown here, leave the bottom un-adhered for now as you will be slipping a strip of paper under it soon. Cut a 25x3.5 cm strip of  the striped paper from the Covid Capers range, cut a wedge into the 3.5 cm edge of the strip and ink the edges in black ink. Cut wedges into the “CORONAVIRUS, SELF ISOLATION & SOCIAL DISTANCING” word titles as shown. Adhere as shown in the photo above, remember to adhere your photos down along the bottom now.

With the other fussy cut images arrange them around the photos and adhere down.

I used a variety of white glue and 3 Dimensional tape. Use some black letter stickers to finish off the title, a few asterisk stickers placed random near the fussy cut clusters and journaling.

This is the finished layout – a fun layout about a serious moment in our year. Lucky for us Paige’s results came back negative.
