Picture Perfect, by Amanda H

Hi Colour Blast fans!

Today I am sharing this page, with blues and yellows and gold. I was able to create my own alcohol inks to colour some clear transparency - cool technique!

Here is a sneak peek of the page.

Now let's look at the steps I took to create the page.

Firstly, I stuck some of these black outline flowers to a piece of transparency.
Then I chose some Colour Artist Inks - Marine, Sunburnt and Spice. I had bought some Isocol - rubbing alcohol to experiment with making alcohol ink with the Colour Artist Inks.
In a paint tray, I mixed equal portions of the Isocol and Colour Artist Ink.
Then I painted the flowers. Make sure you use a dry brush.
I soon discovered that water does mix well, so dry your brush thoroughly after washing. Water repels and washes away the colour. The colour was quite intense, but then lightens as it dries.
When dry, I fussy cut the flowers.
For my background. I started with a heavy weight piece of cardstock. I chose some Colour Shimmer Dust in Duke. I sprayed some water lightly on the page.
And sprinkled some of the Colour Shimmer Dust on the page.
Adding more water as needed, I hit the page with the heat gun to dry.
With a wet brush, I picked up some of the colour from the background and used the brush to make small splatters around the page.
The last touch for the background, was some Colour Paste in Bling through a stencil.

And then I assembled my page. I incorporated the hand painted transparency flowers along with paper flowers, stickers and enamel dots.

Here are some close ups. I used staples to attach the flowers.
I also added some splatters of black at the end also - using Colour Spray in Roadbase.
Thanks for looking today!
Amanda
