Sisters by Tracey Campbell

Hello Bee Arty Fans, it's Tracey here today sharing my latest creation using the Find Paradise collection. For this layout I actually started with wanting to scrap this specific photo of my Mum and her three sisters. The photo isn't the greatest, they are all looking at different focus points and not smiling much, but I just love it as we don't have many of them all together.

SISTERS

so using the photo as my inspiration, I rifled through my Bee Arty papers looking for something that I thought would compliment it. The Breathe patterned paper from the Found Paradise collection aught my eye, the read flowers would look nice with the red t-shirt in the photo, they would compliment and balance each other.

My first step was to use an embossing ink dauber and spread the liquid through the Laced A5 stencil roughly in the area of where the photo will be placed.

I then sprinkled on some Apple of My Eye Embossing Powder and activated it with my heat gun.

Next I sprinkled on some Amber Colour Shimmer Dust over the embossed image and activated it with a spray of water. The Colour Shimmer Dust is one of my favourite Bee Arty products, I love watching it colour up and expand across the paper when it is activated, a little bitter really does go a long, long way.

Sometimes when scrapping I just want to get my layout completed quickly and don't want to wait around for it to dry. You can use a heat gun to speed up the dying time or use a roll of paper towels to mop up the excess liquid.

This is what the background looks like after embossing and the Colour Shimmer Dust.

I decided that I wanted more flowers on the layout to balance out the flower cluster print on the Breathe patterned paper, so I used Sunburnt Artist Ink and Scarlet Watercolour Pan Paint to paint a large flower from the Botanical cut-apart sheets and then Pear Watercolour Pan Paint and Rainforest Colour Spray to paint three of the leave stems.

I then fussy cut the flower and leaves out once they were dry.

At this stage I wanted to add a mat around my photo so I used my second piece of Breathe patterned paper. Any contrasting colour will work to mat your photo with, if you do not have a second piece of Breathe patterned paper. I then adhere using some 3 Dimensional tape the matted photo to the background paper.

Using the 365 metal dies I cut out the word sisters from a scrap of the Entangled patterned paper and adhered it with some white glue on top of the right hand side of the photo.

I finished off the layout by making a flower cluster in the bottom right hand corner of the photo with the fussy cut flowers and leave stems. Adhering with some 3 dimensional tape.

I had fund with layout, it came together very quickly and it only took me an hour to create, which for me is great, most of my layouts take between 3 to 4 hours. The Bee Arty products are such good quality it hard to go wrong when teaming them together.

Thanks for stopping in, I hope that I have inspired you.

Hugs

Tracey
