Hi everyone, 

My turn up on the Colour Blast blog with my latest inspiration, a colourful boho inspired art journal page. 

I started my page by taping off a square section on my page using washi tape. I wanted to create a large white border around the inked area which left an area to add some scribbly writing with a black art journal pen.

By using washi tape it creates a crisp framed area and contains your watercolour inks!

I then sprayed the page with water and dripped each colour of the inks in lines to create the rainbow look. I then used a heat gun to dry the area properly.

I stencilled over the top using Dina Wakely acrylic paints and black versafine ink AND added my mandala on the right side using a combination of Just Blue and Envy Colour Pastes.

To add white highlights, I used a white paint pen by Life of Colour.

Heart and Soul by Ros Aggett-Madley

Hi there.  Today I'm sharing a canvas that I created with Bee Arty goodies.

The base of the canvas has been coated with Heavy White Gesso and a few pieces of torn book paper has been added.

I have some flourishes that I made with a mold and some paper clay.  A coat of Heavy Black Gesso has been added to these and once dry a layer of Sienna Colour Paste.

The flourishes have then been adhered to the middle of my canvas and some different sized balls added around these.  To colour these I have used a little water mixed in with some Peacock Shimmer Dust.

                       

It was really hard to capture the beautiful shimmer of the Sienna paste and it's perfect over the black gesso.

I also added some shimmer to the wings with a Clear Shimmer Pen.

The little heart in the middle is a left over from a previous project.  If you'd like to see how this was made click on the photo below.

Hi all!

Welcome to my share day! I recently got my hands on some of the embossing bundle packs - Amazing colours! Today's page is inspired by the Tuscan bundle. Stamping, heat embossing, combined with some water colour effects (using Colour Shimmer Dusts and Colour Mica Powder) - inspired by Vicki Boutin as well!

Here is a sneak - look at that shine! (and that bee!)

Here is a list of products I used:

* Heavy weight White cardstock

* Tuscan bundle of Embossing powders - I used these colours: Wildberry, Teal and Tuscan

* Colour Shimmer Dusts - Candy, Peacock and Midnight

* Colour Mica Powder - Bling

Here is how I did it.

Stamp flowers and heat emboss with Wildberry embossing powder.

Add leaf stamping and heat emboss with Tuscan embossing powder.

Stamp more flowers and heat emboss with Teal embossing powder.

I keep and mix my Colour Shimmer Dusts in these trays. I can spritz them with water to reactivate the colour after they have dried. 

For the flowers, I painted the red ones using Candy, which I mixed with some Midnight to darken it.

For the turquoise flowers, I painted them using Peacock mixed with some Midnight to darken it as well.

I added splatters of the colours also.

 You can also see here how I added different colours to the flowers, and used a very watered down Peacock to paint around and between the flowers.

Lastly, I mixed some Colour Mica Powder - BLING of course, with some water and painted and splattered gold to the page. I painted over the flowers also, to add some more shine to them.

I also used the Teal embossing powder to heat emboss a chipboard word for the title.

Life is a Beautiful Ride by Tracey Campbell

 Hello everyone, Tracey Campbell here with a Design Team share for you. I have been playing with some left over products from a few different ranges again, I seriously love how you can mix and match the Colour Blast by Bee Arty ranges and mixed media products to create an individual look.

For this layout I wasn't too sure of where I wanted to go so I riffled through my stash of Colour Blast by Bee Art papers to see what I thought would suit my photos - Photos of my daughters and their friends playing on go-carts. Here is what I put together, thinking that I would use it all on my layout.

First up I applied a clear gesso over the Graffiti Grunge Patterned Paper, Amazing and let it dry. Next I grabbed my colour swatch and matched Marine from the Colour Artist Inks to Bronte's clothes in the main photo.

Now your artist inks may look a bit different than mine, I have had mine for a few years and originally they came in these little glass bottles. They now come in little eye dropper bottles. In this step I applied some Marine Artist Ink to a glass cutting board and spread it around.

Crinkle up some cling wrap and dip it into the the Artist Ink, pick up the ink with the plastic.

Next lightly dab the cling wrap with the Artist Ink on it over the clear gessoed Amazing Paper.

This is what the paper now looks like.

Next use a brush to flick splatters of Marine Artist Ink over the paper.

Once dry use the "Weave" stencil and spread thorough Espresso Colour Paste with a palette knife. Move the stencil down under the first pattern to create a tyre tread effect on the paper.

This is the way I used the stencil - one full tyre tread and one partial.

While I waited for the Colour Paste to dry I cut a tag from the Aim High Collect Cut-A-Part sheet "Seeker", the rectangle with the smaller clogs on it, then when the Colour Paste was dry I adhered the photos to the page (see the final layout for the positions) and tucked the tag under the main photo. Next use the metal dies from the Clog Globe set to cut out some of the clogs from the "Do It" paper from the Graffiti Grunge Collection. Once they are cut out adhere them to the layout by sticking them under the photos - see final layout for positioning.

From the Aim High Collection cut the title "A Beautiful Life" from the title Cut-A-Part sheet and adhere to the page.

Cut out the title "I Can & I Will, Watch Me" from the Follow Your Dreams Collection Cut--Part sheet and snip into three sperate titles strips. "I Can", "& I Will" and "Just Watch Me" and adhere overlapping the clogs and the photos.

Here is the final layout. I fun layout that uses a few different ranges/collections, so a great way to use your left over bits and pieces and a good layout that will suit a wide a wide range of subjects and themes such as "Boys and their Toys", "Workshops", "Tom Boys" "Boys with bikes or cars" ..... this list goes on and on.
