Thanks for popping in to have a look at my process for my new 12x12 layout.
I opened a few pots of the Colourblast Shimmer Dust to have a play and before I knew it I was fussy cutting and bringing out Sue Smyth's Whispering Woods collection to help put this together.
I have used a base of 350gsm White cardstock as a base and to that I have added these beautiful and vibrant little pots of colour - CB Shimmer Dust - Peacock, Paris and Lollipop. I have diluted the dusts with a little water & painted them across the page and allowed to dry. I've then added a little more colour where I wanted more depth.
After the paint has dried I used the Whispering Woods stamp - Leafy borders to stamp in black ink across the page.
To that I added more leaves by using the Whispering Woods Celebrate Nature stamp.
I have stamped the flowers and the butterflies from the Whispering Woods Celebrate Nature stamp onto some 250gsm cardstock. I painted the butterflies using Peacock & Lollipop Shimmer dusts. The flowers had centers painted on them using Tangarine Dream Mica powder and a little water. After drying all items were fussy cut out ready for placement.
I have used the A6 stencil - Whispering Woods Sweet Flower sporadically on the layout with some Modelling paste or you can use Heavy white Gesso. I did a little paper shuffling before working out placement of photo then I experimented different places to where all the other elements would go.
The photo stack was created using Whispering Woods papers - Fernery and Woodland Tags. I have drawn a soft black line around the outer edge of my photo to help balance the black of the stamped images. I have used foam tape and glue to adhere the flowers in small clumps on the page. I have then added a few random flowers on the page also. The butterflies were placed on flowers and also random on the page.
I have cut out 3 small bees from the Whispering Woods Imagery paper and added these to the page gluing them in place on the flowers. I felt that the leaves needed to be painted so I made up a little more of the Paris Shimmer Dust and painted a few layers onto the leaves.
I have bordered the page using a black pen and added some cut words to suit.
Thanks for popping by - have a fantastic week of creativity.
