Steampunk Inspired Heart -Part 1 with Trudi Harrison

Hi Everyone!
Trudi with you today with some more Colour Blast inspiration.  I am sharing 'Part 1' of  a project which I have put together for you.

I started with a heart from the 'Ancient Heart' Archival Cast set and had lots of fun altering it with  Colour Paste, Shimmer Sprays, chipboard and metal.

The heart was first painted with Dusty Charcoal Colour Paste.  I gave it a couple of applications.  Just before it dried, I rubbed some of it off to add a distressed appeal.
Leather and Deep Water Colour Shimmer Sprays were spritzed over the top.  Chipboard gears were coloured with  Leather and Deep Water Colour Shimmer Sprays, as was the metal wheel element.  This time I sprayed directly onto the chipboard with no prior prepping with white paint.

I will be back later in the month with 'Part 2 of this project.

Canvas: Be You by Trudi Harrison

Hi Everyone,

Trudi back with you for some more Colour Blast inspiration.
I have a canvas today to share with you all.
I have had lots of fun creating with Shimmer Sprays and Colour Pastes for altering the canvas background, flowers, metal and chipboard elements.

To begin with, I prepped the canvas with a coat of white gesso and added some masked detail.
Deep Water, Fire Engine and Sunshine Colour Shimmer Sprays were added for colour fun.
A couple of layers of colour were added to build up the depth. Before applying more colour, the previous application was allowed to dry.
Some white gesso was dabbed over the top with a spritz of Just Blue  Colour Shimmer Spray.

A stenciled image was traced around with a black pen.
Chipboard Elements were added and painted white.
A metal flower was also added - this was also given a coat of white paint.
Working again with Just Blue, Deep Blue, Fire Engine and Sunshine Colour Shimmer Sprays to create a variegated effect to the chipboard and metal elements.
A flower was altered with Just Blue Shimmer Spray and affixed in place.
Some more embellishing and chipboard elements enhanced with Deep Water and Sunshine Colour Paste.
