Hello to our Colour Blast fans!
It is not too late to have a go at our January challenge over at Colour Blast Creative Corner.
Today I am sharing my page inspired by it!
Here is the challenge - what an awesome sketch and a great idea to try a black background!
Here is how I created my page:
First, I mixed some White Heavy Gesso with Colour Artist Ink (in Slipper).
Next, using a wide bristle brush, I brushed some of the paint mix onto the black background.
Once dry, I droppered some more of the Colour Artist Ink (in Slipper) onto the painted surface.
I painted the Artist Ink around the surface, allowing for variations in colour and brightness.
Once dry, I used some Colour Paste (in Just Blue) through a stencil.
I planned to layer some tissue paper behind the photo, but the pink colour of the tissue paper wasn't quite right. So I painted the tissue paper with Colour Artist Ink (in Slipper).
I inked a wood veneer chevron before heat embossing with Colour Embossing Powder (in Punch).
Next I assembled my page with layers of papers, photos, doodling of white pen and embellishments. Once everything was stuck down, I decided I needed some splatters.
For white splatters, I added some water to White Heavy Gesso.
And then splattered the white on the page (after covering the photo).
Lastly, I grabbed my Colour Shimmer Spray (in Just Blue) to do some splatters. I undid the lid and made splatters from the end of the spray wand.
Here is my final page:
And here are some close ups:
Lovely layers of Gesso, inks, paste and splatters....
Thanks for looking today, please join our challenge this month!
