Grateful Heart by Suzanne Franin

Happy New Year Everyone Suzanne here

I hope you're having a fun but safe New Years Eve

On today's BLOG for Colour Blast I created a canvas with lots of paper clay pieces stuck on

I started off by painting the canvas with Heavy White Gesso

Then used some Helmar Premium Craft Glue to adhere all the paper clay pieces on (like a jigsaw)
I then filled in some gaps with Art Stones and finished it off with another coat of Heavy White Gesso

Then I decided to make it colourful and I used the Colour Shimmer Dusts in - Paris, Peacock, Amber, Sunflower, Duke and Candy
Flicking a little bit of dust before spraying water with each colour (trying not to make mud by getting the colours too mixed up)

Then I felt it needed some more shimmer so I mixed the Dorlands Wax with the Colour Embossing Powder -  Bling and used a  spatula knife to spread it around the canvas and into the little gaps
I covered the heart all over as that's what stands out the most and I based my quote on

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a very happy 2019 xx

Choose to Shine by Ros Aggett-Madley

Hello there.  Today I'm sharing a super easy journal page with you.

I started with a bit of Colour Blast Heavy White Gesso on page.  I've added a die cut to this and dried.

I've then added some water to the page around the die cut.  To this I have added some Colour Shimmer Dust in Peacock and Paris

Moving it around with a paintbrush, I added extra water where needed.

I let some of the water spread on the edges of the page and dried.
Some Colour Paste in Snow White has been rubbed on the leaves of the roses to add some extra shimmer.

The title on my page was a bit thick so I have cut this in half to remove the bulk.  To this I rubbed some Colour Paste Charcoal with my finger.
Some gold splatters have been added with the Colour Shimmer Brush Marker Gold.

I've used that Gold Shimmer pen to also colour a butterfly embellishment.  This has been added to the page with some white and gold cotton.  To finish off I watered down a little Colour Heavy Black Gesso and added a border to the page with the edge of an old card.

Hope you've been inspired.

Mama by Suzy Loudon

Hi all. I hope everyone has survived the Christmas festivities & now taking the time to relax. What better time to get some crafting in.
Today's page is special to me. This was a candid shot of my mother & our oldest son just before he left to live in Europe for ten months.

To begin my layout I arranged some patterned papers to form the background. I then gave it a bit of a white wash with Heavy White Gesso.

I have a spray that I made up of water and Navy Colour  Shimmer Dust. I used this to splatter around some colour on my page.

I sprayed some water dispersing the colour.

I used my Navy Colour Shimmer Dust spray to give my white flowers colour.

I then used my made up Velvet Colour Shimmer Dust Spray to colour some more white flowers.

I painted my chipboard with Heavy White Gesso. Then used my Silver Shimmer Brush Marker along the top. And Velvet Shimmer Dust on the bottom heart.

I painted another chipboard with Heavy Black Gesso.

I mixed Navy Shimmer Dust with the Heavy White Gesso until I got the shade of colour I wanted. Then painted my letters. Once dry I went over them with my Clear Shimmer Brush Marker.

I gave some tiny chipboard hearts a spray with Navy Shimmer Dust.

To finish off my layout I added some ribbon, chipboard word tabs and a sprinkling of beads, micro beads & art stones.

Thanks for looking. I hope you all continue to have a happy and safe Christmas season.

First Santa Photo- Chrissi M

Hello Lovelies!
I hope you all had a great Christmas, and Santa was good to you.
Today I wanted to do something nice and simple. I've noticed, I rarely use my mists the way they were originally intended lol. I cant even remember the last time I actually just sprayed mist through a stencil. So i wanted to show you that you can use them in a simple way, and get a fantastic background.
I'm scrapping a picture of my niece's first Santa photo. She surprised us all and absolutely loved visiting Santa. We honestly thought she would hate the experience, but she laughed the whole time. So I'm scrapping this for her album, which is an 8.5 x 11. I decided to use 3x4 photo for this layout. I love the size for the smaller layouts.
I've mentioned before, my preferred Christmas colours are red and gold, so for this layout I used the Love colour spray, and Bling Colour Shimmer Spray. Perfect for Christmas.

I used the  Large That Way stencil from the August release. I wanted a staggered sprinkling of stars across my layout, so I made sure to mask off my layout to avoid over spray. I used the Love colour spray for this.
Then for some Gold- Bling Colour Shimmer Spray splats for that perfect touch of gold. Very christmassy. I find it almost impossible to get a picture that shows you just how shimmery this looks, unless you can get some natural light to reflect on them.
And that was it for my background. Nice and simple, but a very striking look. Then it was time to add my photo, a title and some small embellishments. I stayed with the red and gold colour scheme throughout, and kept the embellishing very simple.
A close up of my layers behind my photo, and so you can see just how cute my baby niece is lol.
So I hope you liked my layout, and can see just how easy it is to use mixed media products on a layout.

hope you had a merry Christmas, and took lots of christmassy pics to scrap. Till next time lovelies

December Story by Michelle Henderson

Merry Xmas everybody!
I hope everyone is having a totally magic day, and that Santa has been very good to you all ๐ŸŽ…

Our poor little cat in this page - I had to scrap it though!

I started with some plain Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock, and I used a little Kaisercraft stencil along with White Heavy Gesso.

Once I had done that in a few places and it was dry, I thinned down some Colour Artist Inks in Lime, Grass, Sunburnt, and Cranberry. I brushed it on here and there randomly, without overlapping. It wouldn't have made a great colour if they had mixed.

I had some cute little chipboard Xmas trees, but I didn't have the embossing powders I wanted handy, so instead I stippled them with Colour Paste in Apple of My Eye, Envy and finally Bling.

Time to put everything together! I mostly used some Pinkfresh paper and ephemera I had from last year.

Of course then I had to add a few gold splatters, so I used the Colour Shimmer Brush Marker; I also used it to colour just the edges of the wood veneers.

Some close ups for you - just look at those trees๐Ÿ’“๐ŸŽ„

Now go put your feet up and enjoy the rest of your day - I'll see you in the New Year!
