Hi everyone,
Welcome to my first share of 2018! Can't wait to get my hands messy and play with all things Colour Blast this year. And hopefully create some inspiration!
Here is my page for today; featuring some classic Colour Blast products, as well as the new Artist Inks.
Here is a close up, before I show you the steps I took to create the page, and some close ups.
First, I ripped some yellow tissue paper strips, and cut some plasterers mesh. I stuck these to the white cardstock using White Heavy Gesso. {No glue needed!}
After the coat of gesso dried, I selected 3 complimentary colours in my Colour Artist Inks: Mermaid, Citrus and Lime. Using a wet brush and water, I used different variations and combinations of the inks on the background. Because the background had a coat of gesso, I was able to move and vary the colours on the page before it dried. I added a few splatters at this stage too. All the different combinations and colour variations add interest to the background.
Once everything was dry, I added another layer. This time I used Colour Paste, in Snow White through a stencil. I love the shimmery effect of adding Snow White to a background!
Next, I sprayed and splattered some Colour Shimmer Spray, in Apple of my Eye. This added a few extra tones of lime green and some subtle sparkle.
I decided to add some chipboard elements to my page, so I gave them the Colour Blast treatment. First I inked them.
Then I embossed the word title using Colour Embossing Powder, in Apple of my Eye.
And I embossed the skeleton leaves using Colour Embossing Powder, in Deep Water.
Using my background, prepared chipboard and some stickers and embellishments, I completed my page.
These close ups show the embellishment clusters used to finish the layout.
These next close ups show the variations in colour created with the Colour Artist Inks, and that shimmer of the Snow White on top.
Thank you for looking today. I cannot wait to see what you create in 2018!
Amanda
