Hello there ColourBlast fans!
It’s Amy here.
From time to time, I enjoy making cards.
Today, I wanted to
create cards using corrugated cardboard, as I love the texture it provides -
especially for a mixed media background!
I began by trimming and scoring both white and craft
cardboard to the standard card size.
As I was making four cards, I simply painted Black Heavy Gesso with a foam roller onto a 12x12 corrugated paper.
After I heat-gun-dried it, I trimmed four cards then adhered
raw chipboard shapes as desired with either gel medium or a strong waterproof
glue.
Repeat the process of using the foam roller and paint, the
raw chipboard with Black Heavy Gesso.
Make sure you give it full coverage.
I wanted to achieve a rough whitewash effect against the
black. By doing so, I combined some water with the White Heavy Gesso. To speed
up the drying process here, I simply used the heat gun.
Using the following colours, I sprayed each card face:
1. Sapphire Colour Spray
2. Violet Colour Spray
3. Sunset Colour Spray
Once the four card bases were completely dried, it was time
to embellish each of the card bases. Keep it in mind, to use so few – to keep
it simple.
Here are some closeups of the four completed cards. I really
enjoyed creating these cards.

Thanks for looking! …happy creating, Amy. 😊
