Hello Colour Blasters!
There is a new challenge this month in the Colour Blast Creative Corner... and it is to use metals on your page. This inspired me to grab some old metal charms in my stash and give them the Colour Blast treatment.
Here is a sneak peek of my page, before I show you the steps I took to create this page.
To remind you: here is this month's challenge... I added metal and ended up using 4 different Colour Blast products.
I started with these metal charms. I used embossing liquid and Colour Embossing Powder, in Envy, to emboss the charms.
I sprinkled the embossing powder on nice and thick.
For the butterfly charm, I dipped it back into the embossing powder while it was still hot, to give it an extra coat of embossing powder.
Please be careful heat embossing metal, it gets really hot!
I also hand coloured some muslin and lace for the layout. I used a combination of Colour Sprays: Rainforest and Sapphire, which together make a gorgeous colour. Spraying the muslin and lace with water first helps make sure the colour spreads evenly on the fabric. It also helps you control how dark or light the colouring is. Adding more water will lighten the colours and giving it an extra spray of colour will make it darker. You can play with the colour intensity to suit your layout.
I used them through a pretty doily stencil.
I am always surprised how different the pastes dry on the page, compared to how they look in the pot! Don't be tricked when you see the colour in the pot!
The last step I took, was some splatters. I had stuck my photo down, layered with the muslin, lace and a paper doily. I had also added some twists of gold wire and stuck the butterfly down. Then I used Colour Shimmer Cubes to splatter. The colours I chose were: Bling, Sienna and Envy.
I placed a scrap of card over the photo to protect it from splatters. A few sprays of water in the cube to activate it, and away I went. I love the final touches of colour this brings to the page.
You can't see it in this photo, but I also painted all three colours around the border of the page, using the Colour Shimmer cubes.
I finished my page with a few flowers and metal embellishments. Here it is!
I love how the Colour Shimmer Cube splatters even colour the metal embossed butterfly!

And the true colour of Bling Colour Paste shining through!
Look at those lovely bright and shiny splatters of Envy from the Colour Shimmer Cube!
Thanks for looking today. I hope you have some scrapping time this December to join in with our challenge.
