For card one I took a piece of 350gsm cardstock that measured slightly bigger than the Honeycomb Grunge die and swiped 3 of my favourite Distress Oxides ( Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Peacock Feathers) across it ans set aside to dry. in the meantime, I stamped my sentiment from the All Occasions Clear Stamp Set onto a hexie from the Hex Stack die set and splattered it with a bit of each of my ink colours for a bit of extra colour. Once my inked panel was dry I cut the Honeycomb Grunge die from it, trimmed the edges slightly and foam mounted it to a piece of black cardstock and added it to my A6 card base.
For card two, I've die cut the Honeycomb Grunge Die from the 350gsm white cardstock and then coated it in Versamark Embossing ink heavily before adding a gorgeous green glittery embossing powder and heat setting it. I then repeated the process again to give the embossing a thicker coverage, then set aside to cool fully. I stamped the sentiment from the All Occasions stamp set onto a spare piece of cardstock and then glued down the Honeycomb die cut and the sentiment and set it under a heavy book for a couple of minutes to ensure the glue stuck down!
Lucky last, card three has been created in reverse to the other two.... and this is my favourite way to use cover dies as the main event. I took a piece of 350gsm and ink smooshed it with the gorgeous Spice Colour Artist Dye Ink, dried it, smooshed it again, dried it, then added a layer of smooshed Sunflower Shimmer Dust (that I sprayed with water to make it a watercolour style paint), dried it, smooshed again and then set it aside to fully dry. In the meantime I stamped my sentiment from the Butterfly Wishes stamp set in a coordinating ink I found in my collection, which I also used to create a small border piece for behind the sentiment. Once my inked panel was dry I cut it down to fit the front of my card base, glued it down, then added my Honeycomb die cut and then my sentiment.
We'd love to see how you use your background dies as the main character, make sure you share it to our Facebook group which you can find here.
Have a fab week friends, see you again soon.
Kelly.
