21st Birthday Card - With Karyn Schultz!

 Hi Bee Arty Lovelies!

It's Karyn here and today I have a 21st Birthday card to share with you made using products from the Forever My Always collection from Bee Arty.  These papers are so pretty and perfect for a 21st birthday card :)

I created the card base from a 12"x12" page of 350gsm Heavy White Cardstock. I cut it down to 28cmx14cm and folded in half to give a 14cm square card.

I used Matte Brown foil Mirror board for the card front mat 13.5cmx13.5cm and also for the diecuts cut using the My Flower metal die. I actually cut the leaves apart from the flower so I could space them across the card front. I also used the Numbers metal die from the Fireworks collection.

The background is 12.5cmx12.5cm cut from the Best By Far paper. The flowers and leaves were fussy cut from the Forever My Always collection pack.

Thanks so much for stopping by

The flowers and the butterfly - natures true love affair… by Linda Pearson

For today's blog I let my imagination take me to a place of fantasy and beauty.  Using the Flux and Foliage stencils to create some fantasy flowers to attract its winged lover.  The Bee Arty stencils provide a wonderful avenue for challenging your creative mind to produce wonder journal pages or photo layouts.  Enjoy the process.

Colour Spray  – Bubblegum, Caribbean Colourblast colour sprays

GessoBee Arty heavy primer 250ml  white

Flux A6 stencil

Cascading leaves A5 stencil

Butterfly A4 stencil

Sparkles 12”x12” cardstock paper (Fireworks collection)

Mica powder  sunflower, cobalt, lollipop Colourblast mica powder

Catalyst silicone mini blades tool

Dina Wakley Acrylic paint - (Lemon, Orchid, Syrup, Green, Olive, White, Orchid, Magenta, Fuschia)

Modge Podge Dimensional Magic

Nuvo Crystal Drops white

Silver Rhinestones

Moulding Paste (texture paste)

Makeup sponges, Paint brushes,

Silicone Spreader Tool

Apply 2 coats of Gesso.  Dry off.

First background layer -  2-3 green colours into paste through the Cascading leaves A5 stencil over the entire page by tapping the paste with a silicone sponge.  Can add some white Gesso to lighten the green paint.

Second background layer – Apply a second spread of green colours through the   Cascading leaves A5 stencil – this time turn the stencil on angles over the entire page again.  Dry off.

Third background layer – For this layer apply Gesso through the Cascading leaves A5 stencil again changing the direction of the stencil to cover some of the gaps in the previous layers.  Dry off.

Flowers – Create 3 flowers on left hand side of page.

Using the Flux A6 stencil to create abstract flowers, mix quantities of  DW orchid (light shade), Magenta (medium shade) and Fushcia (dark shade) into the moulding paste.  Pounce the light shade through the stencil using a makeup sponge.  Repeat this process using the medium shade then the darker shade in turn to add depth to the petals.  Dry off between each pass.

Stamens – Mix some DW lemon paint into a small amount of moulding paste.  Swipe a good amount of paint through the berry shapes on the Foliage A4 stencil to resemble flower stamens.  Add one stamen to the centre of each flower.  Dry off.

Use a stipple brush to tap some textured lemon paste into the centre of each flower.

Add white dots around the stamens and on some of the petals using the Nuvo crystal drops.

Add silver rhinestones to the stamens and on some of the smaller petals using dimensional magic.  Use a paint pen to highlight around the textured shapes.

Add spatters of paint in DW fuschia and olive over the entire paint (not flowers).  Dry off.

Butterfly – Use a sheet of Sparkles 12”x12” cardstock paper as a coloured base to add Butterfly A4 stencil. Mix small quantities of moulding paste, adding Mica powder  sunflower, cobalt and lollipop.  Spread the 3 colours through the Butterfly A4 stencil.  Allow to dry.

Spray some Colour Spray in bubblegum and Caribbean to the butterfly shape, spray with water to spread (Note:  some of the colour in the moulding paste outline will move also).  Cut out the shape from the paper when completely dry.

Add dimensional magic and silver rhinestones over the textured shape to add shine and dimension.

Adhere the butterfly to the right-hand side of the page using mounting tape.

Add silver rhinestones to the butterfly with dimensional magic adhesive.

Outline the butterfly with fine black paint pen.

Add the sentiment to the page and border to the page with paint pen.

Thank you for stopping by and hope this project has triggered your imagination to create your own fantasy page.

Bye for now from Linda

Love My Girls by Tracey Campbell

Hello Bee Arty people, it is Tracey Campbell here again with another creation to share. My layout this time is a bit different for me. I started this layout when I was away on a work trip, with limited room in my luggage around my uniforms so had to restrict myself to easy to carry items. I ended not taking anything for the title and decided to finishing off the layout at home where I could raid my Bee Arty supplies to create the perfect title. Which was a nice way to finish as I had access to my mixed media and completed it whist doing an online crop with a bunch of lovely ladies from all over the world. Anyhoo let me take your through my process on how I created:

Love My Girls

I love the Embrace Change collection so decided to use the Falling pattern paper as my background, the colours and foliage reminds me of the Australian bush. The paper has a lovely image on it but I must admit I had trouble trying to work out how to use it at first as I didn't want to hide too much of the image, I wanted to include it in the design, so I thought less is more.

Working with limited space in my luggage I decided to pull a bit of a kit together for this layout and pre-cut some elements for my layout. I used the String Leaves metal die and two string wreaths and a few of the leave clusters from the maroon coloured paper in the Embrace Change collection. Next I fussy cut two of the  grey tags from the Elegant Tags patterned paper in the Spread Your Wings Collection and some of the grey leaves and butterflies from the cut-apart-sheet in the Embrace Change Collection.

Using some of B side of the Living patterned paper in the Embrace Change collection I matted a 6x4 portrait photo with a 3mm boarder.

I adhered the matted photo to the centre of the Falling patterned paper and positioned all the elements around the photo. The string wreaths were tucked under the top left and bottom right corners first, I then cut one of the tags in half and positioned a piece under the op and left hand edge of the photos, making sure that the string leave was on top of the tag. You can see the positioning in the final layout.

At the bottom right hand corner of the photo I adhered the second tag in the centre of the string wreath and popped a fussy cut butterfly at the top. Here I was creating a space for the title.

Using the fussy cut grey leaves and a die cut leaf cluster I overlapped them on both the left and right hand sides of the photo. On the left hand corner of the photo a adhered another fussy cut butterfly. This was as far as I got whilst away as I didn't plan well enough to remember to take something for a title.

When home I used the Love My Tribe metal die and cut it out of some of the greenish paper from the Embrace Change collection. I then used a pair of fine scissors to trim off the word Tribe from the diecut.

I wanted to add the word "Girls" to the end of my title so that it said "Love My Girls" but I didn't have the right coloured font, so I decided to see if I could alter some Thickers. I mixed a small amount of Peach Nectar Colour Mica Powder, a tiny drop of Walnut Colour Artist Ink and some Dimensional Magic together to create a bronze colour which I applied with an old bamboo skewer.

I then adhered the title to the tag at the bottom righthand corner of the photo.

Such a quick and easy layout but as the Falling patterned paper is such a stunning design it makes the layout interesting with a lot to look at.

Thanks for stopping in and I look forward to sharing with you all again shortly.
Hugs

14 Today created by Tracey Thorne

Hello creatives. I hope you have been filling  your albums with lots of creativity over the past week. My project this week worked perfectly with a couple of product ranges from the Fireworks & Chit Chat ranges.

I started with a base of 350gsm white cardstock. I mixed a little of the Peacock Shimmer dust with water and painted it on the page with a wide brush. I have then dropped a little of the Soot dye ink in a palette and used the same brush with plenty of water and added it to the white spaces in between. I then loaded the brush with less watered down colour and went around the outer edge of the page.

I have then worked out my photo stack. I have mounted my photo on to a piece of Fireworks Magical cardstock then some corrugated card and that is then put onto another piece of the Magical cardstock. I have worked out placement and popped this aside while I create more layers on the background.

I've added another layer to the page by using the Fireworks stencil - Candles and Impasto Gel. After adhering this I sped up the drying time by using my heat gun. This Gel can be a little tacky until completely dry and even after fully drying can still be touch tacky. You can alleviate this at the end of the project if you do not like it by using a little Dorlands Wax Media over these parts of the layout.

As the Gel dries it becomes translucent and glass like - similar to Glossy Accents.

After the drying of the Impasto Gel I have used the Scrabble clear stamp from the Chit Chat range. I have inked it up and stamped over some of the alphas and in various places up and down the page. After this step I have used some washi tape at the base of some of the numbers also adding it horizontally across the page.

I have used an American Crafts Thickers font to create the title and added a few timber embellishments after adhering the photo stack to the page.

I hope you have enjoyed the process for this page. Have another fabulously creative week.

Harmony's 15th Birthday by Charmane Koch

 Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Today I wanted to share with you my layout I created using the Mixed Embossing Powder Technique & the fabulous NEW Fireworks Collection! How FUN & AWESOME is it!

You can see the video over on the Bee Arty Hive HERE!

I used the cute Dies from the Party Metal Die & the Numbers Metal Die from the Fireworks Collection.  I used the 350gsm White Cardstock. I coloured using Mica Powder and Water - Bling for the present, party hat & the Numbers, and Lollipop for the banner.

I used Snow White Colour Paste to create the Candles Stencil background behind the photos...

How awesome did this background turn out? Used the Fireworks Stencil!

I have used the Uppercase Stamp to create my "Birthday" title & randomly stamped the little starburst pattern.

Time to play with your Fireworks collection & maybe even try some Embossing?

Thanks for popping by today!
