Hi there Colour Blast fans! Amy Prior back today to share a bright and fun layout featuring a photograph of me and hubby taken on New Years Eve. I have used lots of gorgeous Colour Pastes for my background and some Colour Shimmer Dust on the Wood Veneer title.
I have a quick step-by-step tutorial for you all, showing exactly how I created this layout so that you can recreate it at home yourself.
Step 1: Using Colour Pastes in colours Sunshine, Tangareen Dream, Fire Engine, Lipstick, Rose Petal, Lovely Lilac, Royalty, Just Blue, Singin the Blues, Envy and Apple of my Eye, smear a strip of each colour using a palette knife or similar.
Step 2: Scrape your palette knife over the joins between each colour to let them blend a little bit. This will help it look more organic rather than clean uniform lines.
Step 3: Place a piece of paper towel over the top of the colour paste and press down gently to allow the pattern of the paper towel to imprint. This step has to be done quickly after smearing the colour paste to ensure that it is still wet.
Step 4: Dry the texture paste completely using a heat tool or allow to dry naturally. Colour Paste dries very quickly and can be easily recognised as dry because the colour darkens dramatically.
Step 5: Using some Black Archival Ink or Staz-on, smear the entire ink pad over the texture of the colour paste. Keep scrubbing the ink pad all over until you get the desired effect then set aside to dry completely.
Step 6: Mix some Midnight Colour Shimmer Dust with water and paint the wood veneer title, then set aside to dry.
This layout was finished off using lots of gorgeous embellishments.
The pieces of patterned paper have been inked on the edges using black archival ink to bring the black into my layers more.
Well that is it from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!
