Hi Everyone,
Welcome to another Sunday 'Sesh' with me on the Colour Blast Blog.
Well for those that know me quite well, I try to mix things up a bit with my work, mostly mixed media but sometimes I veer back to the love of paper and fussy cutting. Today I have combined both in a (more pastel) more subtle colour scheme just to show that Colour Blast is for everyone....shimmer, shimmer shimmer still.
On this layout I have used a combo of the following Colour Blast products which can be found here at the Colour Blast Shop:
Colour Blast Texture Paste: Apple of My Eye, Rose Petal
Colour Blast Shimmer Spray: Just Blue, Apple of My Eye, Rose Petal, Bling, Deep Water
Colour Blast Embossing Powder: Rose Petal
Simple Stories 'You are Here' Collection
Scrap FX Stencil, Crafters Workshop Stencil
Kaisercraft Netting Background Stamp
Versafine Ink
Step 1: Gather together your Colour Blast products in the colours you have chosen to go with your holiday snap. I used a 3 1/2 x 5 inch photo, I then matted it in white cardstock and using my fingers and a bit of Rose Petal Colour Blast Paste around the edge of the photo.
Step 2: On a white piece of cardstock, grab a stencil, I used a circular Scrap FX stencil with the four Colour Blast Sprays spray a light coating over parts of your stencil in the desired position, dry and then spray with the next colour...and so forth til you have a multicoloured 'subtle' stencilled background.
Step 3: Once the background has dried, Using your 'ledger' or something similar stencil and Apple of My Eye Paste and a palette knife, add a thin layer over the stencil in the middle of your layout leaving a bit of space in between. As per the photos above.
Step 4: Using Apple of my Eye Shimmer Spray add a final light spray over the Texture Paste and Dry.
Step 5: Add a few droplets of each of the colour shimmer sprays dotted through your texture paste area, you can take the lid off and just use the liquid that has been left on stick or you can use a fan brush and achieve finer splatter.
Step 6: Once your page has dried, stamp on either ends of your page, using a background stamp of your choice and black versamark ink
Step 7: Fussy Cut your life away .... as per the photo, i chose to fussy cut the leaves, flowers to create a create multi-layered effect.
Step 8: Arrange your backing papers in differing sizes of squares behind your photo in the left of middle of your page. Start layering your fussy cut pieces and other embellies like wood veneer flowers, word stickers and die cut flamingos. Use 3d mounting squares to layer your fussy cut pieces. Here are some close ups below.
Step 9: Add some last minute splatters of Apple of My Eye Shimmer Spray and glue everything down and you have a completed layout.
Happy Crafting !!
Thanks so much for joining me today, make sure you leave some love :-)
