Hi all, Michelle back again playing with faces again!
This is my Art Journal that I use to just play around with and experiment.
This is a way to relieve myself of all the ideas that are going through my head!
Some things work..... others not so much, but I do love to just have some Free Play Time without a particular project in mind. That being said this page that I am sharing just seemed to work for me so thought I would share it!
So here it is:
I have been trying to make a habit of taking progress pics so I can let you all in on how it all happens. So here we go, buckle up and join me as I attempt to explain the process, apologies in advance if a few steps were missed, I was on a roll!!!
First I stamped some images to make a collage background with an ink that will not move with any wet media to follow.
Then I chose some Colour Pastes I haven't used in a while, and taped up a stencil so that I only use half the face. (you have to look hard to see her as the stencil is clear).

Then I used my first colour paste through the stencil.
When the first colour is dry, I do the same thing with the next colour, and in the last image I wanted a full face with the pink so removed the tape.
Once all three girls were dry I added some splashes of Glimmer Spray in the same colours, then I painted a layer or 2 of Gesso on the faces so that I could add colour and details.
This is where I forgot some progress shots as I was caught up in the moment playing with the faces!
I used my Neocolor 2 crayons, watercolour pencils and my water soluble All pencil to fill in details and make my girls a little "moody"!
I added shadow with the same pencils and crayons around all 3 girls to make them move into the foreground a little.
A few scribbles with a white marker also gave them an "arty" feel!
We are almost done....a title using some alpha stickers and a sentiment stamp and I called the page done!
Here are a few more close ups of my moody gals:
Really happy with the way they worked out, their faces are in no way perfect but that was never going to happen with me behind the pencil!
Colour Blast Products I used are:
Colour Pastes: Bling, Leather and Rose Petal
Colour Shimmer Sprays: Bling, Leather and Rose Petal
So that's it for me for now see you again a little later on in the month!
Till then be sure to check back often for all the wonderful work the rest of the DT are sharing!
