I have been playing with my Colour Blast Paste to try and push the boundaries and see what can be achieved with them. I wanted texture but not smooth like just pushing it through a stencil so...
I die cut some feathers from a scrap piece of cardstock and made my own stencils. To this I pushed some cheap plain old Montemarte texture paste through with a palette knife. While it was still wet I applied Colour Blasts pastes in Envy, Singing the Blues and Bling. I applied them with a fine paint brush carefully so as not to mix with the white texture paste too much. Gosh, the colours are so pretty when they are side by side. The white texture paste mutes the bright colours a bit and you are left with shimmery pastels.
Here is a close up of the texture in the feathers.
I used the same colours in the embossing powders to emboss a cardboard frame from my stash and a piece of A2Z Scraplets chipboard in an ombre effect. I have put together a process video so you can see how I did this - Head over to Popleopod on YouTube and check it out.
I also used embossing powder around the edge of the page to create a border that turned out better than I expected.
