Fly by Suzanne Franin

Hey Everyone Suzanne here

Here's a little project I did using the Colour Blast Colour Pastes

Make sure you visit the Colour Blast Blog and see all the awesome creations from the Design Team and look out for all the new products that are coming out
And don't forget we have a Colour Blast Kit Club make sure to check that out as well

I started by using the Heavy White Gesso on this timber frame giving it a good coat

I used the Colour Paste in Sunshine, Tangerine Dream and Blush trying to blend each one after the other (not that successfully but I think it still looks good) through this flourish stencil

After the paste was dry I used the string to wrap around the frame in every angle I could go

I painted some paper clay leaves with some Colour Shimmer Cube Apple of Eye (are no longer available but you might find some online stores still stock them)

I just got this Colour Spray Carribean and it's so nice- it has a matte finish but it still pops
I sprayed it onto this paper clay filigree
I love the way it was depth it went into the grooves and stayed darker
I then stuck the quote onto it

Added a few different flowers I think then end one is Prima and the other two are Little Birdie Crafts
You can see the paper clay leaves sticking out of the sides of the flowers

The butterfly was a photo I found on the internet and just loved it I printed it out then fussy cut around all the white it had
I folded the wings up so it looks like it was flying

I then glued the butterfly to a metal ring that has flowers all the way around

I love this flower from Little Birdie with the Smile cabochon in the middle so I made the butterfly fly to that and used some metal leaves off to the side

Thank you for visiting and I hope you come back soon x

To Do Lists by Suzanne Franin

Hey Everyone Suzanne here

This project was inspired by my husband
He has lists everywhere, so I thought I would make something that will keep everything in one place because he won't use his phone apparently that's to hard

So for the Colour Blast Blog this is what I created
Also be sure to check out what the rest of the team have created

Each hook has a different label - Things to do, Things to buy and Places to go so when anyone has something they need or are going too it can be written down (hopefully LOL)

This was a Kaisercraft kit thats been around awhile
First I painted it all with White Heavy Gesso
Then each square I used a different stencil with Colour Paste
Two with Stormy Weather and one with Fire Engine

On the top part I used an arrow stencil with some Colour Paste Snow White then used Colour Shimmer Dust Midnight
Flicked the Dust in a few places then sprayed some water
Then tilted it until I was happy with the coverage I had on it

I love how one Colour Shimmer Dust can have a few different colours come out

The letters I used are white plastic ones so I went around the edges with a black marker just so they would stand out a bit
I glued them down with Helmar Super-Tac Glue

I also used this glue to adhere the clips to the chipboard squares

My husband came up with idea of cable ties to attach the two parts together

Fingers crossed it gets used.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come back soon x

Roses by Suzanne Franin

Hey Everyone Suzanne here

So for my creation this week for the blog I decided to try something out on a hoop I made my own gritty texture paste and I wanted it to be rusty
Make sure you take look around the rest of the blog and if you have a product that you have and aren't sure how to use search it and projects that have used that product should come up and give you some ideas

I made a mix of decorative stones which are tiny stones, texture powder and impasto making sure it was mixed completelyI then went around the side and one edge of the outer hoop as the inside hoop would be covered by the calico

I then used Colour Artist Ink Rust and Colour Shimmer Spray Leather mixing them as I went to try and get the colour I was after but it didn't turn out how I wanted

So I made a mix of of Colour Mica Powder Espresso and some Gem Stone Glue from Helmar so the shimmer would stay instead of using clear gesso which takes the shimmer away

Then I used some of my large collection of the timber from the backs of the canvases (I collect them all they come in handy for all sorts of things) and arranged them into this pattern which isn't really anything

I then used Colour Paste Blush with a Rose stencil on the timber pieces (I wasn't sure how it would work but I like it)

I love when you use the colour pastes how the colours change when they dry

I then added a sprig of flowers that has some birds on it as well

Then I added some metal embellishments for a contrast colour and a different texture

Can't go past some Bling from Memory Maze

And these gorgeous Mermaid Balls that my mum gave me I have so many different colours in them they are so pretty

This is a side view of the hoop so you can see the texture

And another so you can see the shimmer of the Colour Mica Powder

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come back soon x

My Dear by Suzanne Franin

Hey Everyone Suzanne here

So for my Colour Blast project I decided I'd use this little
shadow box kit I had bought awhile ago
I thought it would make a cute little picture frame

Also don't forget to check out the Blog for more inspiration from the rest of the team and also visit the store to see the latest Kit Club designs

I started off by painting everything with Colour White Gesso to give and even coat and for all the products to adhere to the timber evenly

On the inside of the shadow box I used Colour Paste Tangerine Dream and on the outside I used Stormy Weather

I then used Colour Shimmer Cubes (which I shouldn't use as we don't have them in stock I'm just lucky enough to have the whole set of these) but I'm building on my Colour Shimmer Sprays collection and don't have those colours yet
So I used Tangerine Dream and Stormy Weather in those to paint some of the timber areas like the stand, the scroll at the top and around and inside the shadow box

I then painted the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Chipboard Stickers with the  Colour Shimmer Brush Markers - Sliver on the deers head and then Clear on the flowers underneath him and then on the frame around the photo and the arrows and hearts then a little on the all the flowers (once you start you can't stop) they just add that little extra touch

I also used the Silver on the scroll at the top of the shadow box
And added a Cocoa Vanilla Studio Flair Button inside the shadow
box

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come back soon x

I am Me by Suzanne Franin

Hey Everyone Suzanne here

This project for Colour Blast was made for a new friend for a reminder of where she has come from and where she has been in her life

Make sure you visit the rest of the blog and discover what fabulous creations have been made here lately

So I started of by painting everything with the Colour Blast White Gesso to give everything a nice even surface to work on
I then mixed in some Colour Mica Powder Espresso with some clear gesso too make a nice shimmery colour for the frame and some of the embellishments
It's a shame the camera doesn't pick up the shimmer
Tip - Make sure to put the powder in first that way you won't get the dust floating up as you mix it together

Then on a few of my embellishments that I used the Colour Mica powder mix on I added Colour Embossing Powders - Bling and Sienna just a little sprinkle on them for some contrast

On the Memory Maze Ladies form with decorative wings I added the Bling so it would stand out and then used some Colour Artist Ink in Slipper which I also added to a few of the other embellishments to brighten up the piece

On the background of the frame I glued some material using the Helmar Super-Tac Glue it's a good strong glue and keeps things in place for ever
I then too some Colour Artist Inks in Soot and Rust and added them to the background spraying water as I went until I was happy with the colours

Then the fun begins arranging everything I placed a sheer piece of fabric in the back under all the flowers to soften things
I thought I'd use yellow flowers as it's such a happy colour and the quote is quite heavy and deep and then the little pink paper clay embellishments scattered I think add a bit of fun

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come back soon x
