Cherish the wonder of memories with Amy Prior

Hi there Colour Blast fans! Amy Prior back with you all again today, this time sharing 2 scrapbook layouts created using some of my favourite Colour Blast products.

This first layout is titled "Wonder" and features a photo of my gorgeous girl Mia on Christmas Day back in  2011.

To create the background for this layout, I have started off with a 12x12 piece of White (Marshmallow) Bazzil Cardshoppe Cardstock. Firstly I have added some Golden Bead Gel Medium scraped through a Crafter's Workshop stencil over the entire background.

When the beaded gel medium was dry, I have sprayed a giant puddle of water over the entire background before sprinkling some Colour Blast Shimmer Dust - Lollipop and Colour Blast Shimmer Dust - Passion over the top randomly. If you have a large enough puddle of water, watching the dust move organically through the water is a magical thing. Very mesmerising. If there is not enough water for the dust to move around, you can simply spray some more water over the top however you want to avoid spraying too much more water to avoid the colours mixing.

I have then finished off this layout using lots of gorgeous papers from my pink and purple stash at home alongside some random flowers, mainly from Green Tara, as well as some stickers from American Crafts.

The next layout that I have to share with you all is titled "Cherish time with my peeps" and features a fun photo of me and the gorgeous Anita Rodway from Flutterby Designs taken at her recent retreat in July 2016.

To create the background for this layout, I have started off with a 12x12 piece of Black (Licorice) Bazzil Cardshoppe Cardstock.

By working quickly and scraping each line of colour over the top of the previous colour slightly, I have created a fun continuous rainbow pattern without it looking too blocky.

I have then finished this layout off with some gorgeous papers from BoBunny as well as some products from American Crafts and Heidi Swapp.

Well that is it from me today, thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

Marbeling Memories with Amy Prior

Hi there Colour Blast fans! Amy Prior back with you all again today, this time sharing a pretty shabby chic inspired layout using lots of gorgeous Colour Blast products alongside some BoBunny papers, Dusty Attic chipboard and Scrappers Garden flowers.

Lots of gorgeous details on this layout include the funky marbled pattern background. See below for a quick step-by-step on how I created this effect.

The Dusty Attic Chipboard frame has been covered with some Embossing Paste before a generous sprinkle of Leather, Bling and Snow White Colour Embossing Powders. If you don't like the mottled effect, use just one colour and create an even coat of the powder before melting with your heat tool.

Lots of beautiful papers and flowers finished this layout off perfectly with some additions of bling as well! Who doesn't love a bit of glitter here and there.

Steps for creating a faux marbled background.

Step 1: Blob various colours of Colour Paste over the top of a stencil, I've used Bling, Leather and Snow White. It is super important that the stencil stays still so stick it down with some Washi Tape to avoid any movement in the stencil.

Step 2: Quickly scrape the colours together but only once up and down then once side to side. If you over work this step you will simply mix the colours together and not get the funky marble pattern detail.

Step 3: Remove the stencil and heat dry that glorious pattern detail. Make sure you clean your stencil quickly also as the Colour Paste dries very quickly.

Well that is it from me today, until next time, happy scrapping!
